| My Brother Wrote A Book |
|
| |
Howdy All, My brother James, who has a seminary degree, and an excellent head on his shoulders, has written a book about end times prochecy, and how to study it. It's available on lulu.com, under this title (click the title to go to the page): Blue Collar Eschatology If you are studying the end times, this is an excellent read. God Bless You, Jess |

Jess, thanks for the book. I am on page 28 of 70 and it is good so far. I like the emphasis on prayer and to realize we all come to this study with our own bias. We need to follow scripture wherever it leads us. One of the biggest things about eschatology is that we should use these prophesies as an encouragement of our future and hope. Soemtimes we allow our differeing opinions of end times to divide us rather than encourage us. Great blog as usual, Jess. Have a great weekend! |

Jess,
Let me start by saying that your "Friend's Bulletin" alerting me to this work is greatly appreciated. As much as I hate to admit this, it is one of a small percentage of bulletins that I followed through with. There has already been much "chatter" about the overuse of the bulletin feature which dilutes the importance of a true bulletin. But this bulletin had merit; drawing my attention to something that is unique, new and deserving of recognition. Thank you, Jess.
As for the eBook that can be downloaded for free, just right click on the title and select "Save target as" to download the 417 kB PDF file, I've already scanned all of the pages to "catch the drift" of the author's writing style and how the book is laid out. Your brother, James, has a style that will be accepted by many, is easy to read and most importantly, will not confuse people such that by the end of the first chapter, they give up.
Study and knowledge of the End Times is something we should all should have some minimal knowledge of. After all, I always say that we need to "check what is coming out of the pulpit" and since the phrase "we are in the final days" is a common theme we hear, we should all be digging deeper in to the Word to find out for ourselves.
And that is where everyone gets cold feet. Me read The Revelation of John? Are you nuts? LOL
Well, this book just might help some of those with the jitters get over their fear!
I like the way that your brother wrote it. The reader can skim the top or dig as deep as they want to in this subject area. It will be interesting to see what others from MyChurch have to say about the book.
Thanks again Jess and tell your brother thanks as well.
Dave
P.S. The paperback version for $5.93 per copy would be worth it too. I have two other books in my library on Eschatology that I would recommend to others. I have a bunch that I would not recommend to the average congregation member. Your brother's book would be one that I would recommend; especially for a home cell group that wishes to do a study in this area. |

Thanks PastorDATM! This is awesome. How do you post a book review? I know they have those icons on the Explore page. Please put a review up there for this (even what you wrote is excellent - it gets people to want to read it). Thanks, Jess |
