So true, so true! And our willingness to do the things necessary for victory doesn't determine whether or not God will achieve success, it just determines whether or not we will see his successes! Great blog Pastor Tim!  ~mike

Pastor Tim
Beautiful message as usual.  I must always avoid the impulse not to change, and of course I'm talking of those areas in my life that need changing; need to line up with God's will.  With God's help it is a possability. I like what you wrote about it not being a 50 yard dash but over time you can look back and see what God has done.  Thank you.

Mike - You said, "our willingness to do the things necessary for victory doesn't determine whether or not God will achieve success, it just determines whether or not we will see his successes!" So true. We must die that He may increase.

MaKelly - I am sorry to hear about your car accident. I hope that everything is all right. Let us know!

Jen - Thanks! This is something God has been reminding me for the last couple of weeks!

Deb - I will be praying that God will help you with those things. God has a blessing right around the corner.

Pastor Ken - To one of my favorite people here at MyChurch, it is great to hear from you. Life is a marathon and we need to savor every monment and every opportunity. Erma Bombeck once said, "Seize the moment. Remember all those women on the Titanic who waved off the dessert cart." By savoring those moments we can look back and see with gladness that we took advantage of the opportunities that we were given.

I would also had that how we spend our time depends how we live our lives. Someone has calculated how a typical lifespan of 70 years is spent. Here is the estimate:

Sleep................23 years...........32.9%
Work.................16 years...........22.8%
TV....................8 years...........11.4%
Eating................6 years............8.6%
Travel................6 years............8.6%
Leisure.............4.5 years............6.5%
Illness...............4 years............5.7%
Dressing..............2 years............2.8%
Religion............0.5 years............0.7%

Total................70 years............100%

Hi Pastor Tim,

This is a great reminder about "Finishing Strong".  We have to keep reminding about ourselves that we should not "fall to the traps of satan" on a 'minute' basis.  May God the Father give us grace through His Son and protection through the Holy Spirit that we all should finish strong in our race, until the day of Judgment

Ragland - I agree. It's not about how fast you start but how well you finish>

Arlene - Thanks. The stats caused me to reexamine how I spend my time.

Great word to us PT.  Thanks for sharing your insight with us all here.  Very interesting statistics in your follow up comment.  WOW is all I can say.  I hope we learn to change those statistics around a bit.  But then again, I don't consider my relationship with Christ a religion.

PT,

I really like it.  Our church's vision statement can be contracted to "Invite, Celebrate, Grow, and Serve."  I think you hit them all.

Have a great year!

Good changes for me would be A) trust Jesus more.  B0 trust Jesus more.
