:-) You got that right may we all (true believers) be totally insane (by the standards of the world) everyday of our lives.  GOD Bless and have a wonderful day.

Have you noticed how the world looks at you when something good happens(at work, at school, etc.) and your first response is PRAISE GOD, AMEN, THANK YOU JESUS????

They look at you like you are crazy and I love it.  Don't get me wrong, everything that happens is not preface with those words but they should be.  If we are going to talk the talk, we need to walk the walk.  I want people to know how much I LOVE THE LORD and every chance that I get I give honor to him.

Thank you Father for making me a SCHIZO for YOU!!!.

Thanks Mike

You know M and L. I think he's talking about those who, as I did, when I practiced the Roman Catholic Religion. Thinking that some how a priest made the body of Christ appear in a wafer and His blood in a cup. These are magic tricks and have nothing to do with God's word. It was meant to be a simbel of His Body and Blood. However, our brother's and sisters in this religion are still loved by Christ. It is the "traditions of men" passed down by fools who keep them ignorant. The teachers of these "untruths" will suffer for it in the end. I take communion at home as I know of no church that understands as I do in my area. I have invited many should they wish to do so also. Many live too far away.
But, the practice of having to receive only in a building considered "Holy" hurts Christians in many ways. The evil sort such as this nut, O'brian, uses it in a way to attack to sanity of all Christians. He thinks he's smart.
What is so "irational' about God's Word? Or insane?   Do we cary Christ in our hearts daily? 24/7?
If you believe Jesus died 2000 years ago. Why, would you worship a dead man? Jesus is NOT dead. How could anyone believe God is dead. Much worst, his Son? I know you don't mean that. Don't let fools like this get to you. I think it is only the tip of the iceberg!!  I, myself do not live any day different than another. I study the Word daily which IS Church. His Word is the light. A building filled with people does not make it different. Yet, God's Word is not taught in many churches today. Puppet shows and music take it's place while people starve for the truth. That, I hope is the reason to contribute to this web site. to speak the truth and help those who look to someone in the darkness to speak out and bring them light!!  God bless!!

People might think we are insane, but they won't be thinking that when they die.

I saw a bit of Bill Maher on the Tonight show this week and I had to change channels.  It seems like every sentence he uses has profanity that even the NBC censor bleeps out.

All day every day for Him.

Wow!  Not that says it all MIke... Christianity is not a one day a week thing. The other 6 days should reflect Jesus Christ through us or if not maybe we should reflect on our salvation.  Amen on the blog!

Thanks Cheryl! Sounds like you're a definite 7-days a week Christian!

Arlene, not too worried about being cut down for being different, we're blessed when we are persecuted for Jesus' sake (not that I really know what real persecution is like!).

Thanks Mark, Dennis, Randy, that's the sad truth Deb!

Thanks Joey! Ok, maybe I'll take back what I said about being different (I don't dance in public). :-) But my heart does the snoopy dance often!!

Tressa, great comment! Mistakes are ok, it's our inconsistency from Sunday to the rest of the week that hinders the work of the church!

Mary, what a precious comment. I sure can tell you love the Lord, and I have a hunch your love for him can be seen throughout the week!

Thanks Della, Francine and Kathy!

Della, by the standards of the world I am 100% certifiably NUTS!! lol

Me too. It's messy when they do crash, but sometimes that's what God uses to get through to them. "one proud day for an eternity of sorrow and regret." Wow, that's powerful Arlene.

1Co 1:18  For the word of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us who are saved it is the power of God.

1Co 1:18  The Message that points to Christ on the Cross seems like sheer silliness to those hellbent on destruction, but for those on the way of salvation it makes perfect sense. This is the way God works, and most powerfully as it turns out.

Dear Mike,

The above mentioned verse, is what I can think of as an answer. But there is a lesson for the 'namesake christians' or 'nominal  christians' to be learnt. We have to be concious of practising the commandments of Christ on a 24X 7basis.

I understand the guy hates us (believers), but we need to show the love that christ has commanded. He may be a 'saul' waiting to become a 'paul'. Who knows? God identifies those whom He has predistined and works in their life.

Let us only pray for Bill Maher, at the same time, since you have brought this to our knowledge, by Blogging this, God has a purpose for us to learn something here.  Let us discern with the help of the Holyspirit and understand what God wants to learn out of this experience.

Have a Blessed day!

I think its just 1 Corinthians 1:18-31

18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written:
   "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."[c]

20Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

26Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29so that no one may boast before him. 30It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord."[d]

As for us only being Christian on sunday, if anyone is found in this struggle let them take encouragement from the Apostles and the Lord Jesus himself, who preached the Gospel and were persecuted no matter what day of the week it was.
Grace and peace from our Lord Jesus Christ

Marty, thanks ... excellent scripture!! Perfectly applicable to when folks outside of the faith put down our beliefs and practices in their ignorance. I just wonder if we make it easy for them when our lives aren't a consistent picture of devotion and discipleship?

Great blog! When we are rejected and misunderstood it is an honor to be treated so for our beliefs and relationship with the Lord. No, we do not fit in...and that is perfectly alright with me.

Hey Mike, I for one don't want to be that one day a week Chirstian.  I will meet God each day as He enables me so that those around me can meet Jesus in me.  Thanks for the reminder to be an everyday Christian.

One of our pastors has an interesting way of saying things at just the right time.  He's usually saying things like "keep it real."  Every once in awhile he says, "Keep it weird."  I think that's exactly what you're talking about. Mike.

Peace!

This should be a wakeup call to many people.  Sadly it comes from a guy like Bill Maher, but he echoes what many non-Christians believe - and why many people that were Catholic or otherwise fall out of religion....there are a lot of hypocrites out there, and there are a lot of people that don't live in Christ.

Of course to an outsider it's gonna look like you 'play the part'...and, I'm sure Bill experienced that.  We all have experienced that.

It's a matter of 'the squeaky wheel gets the grease"....in this case, the boastful "Christian" who has 6 days a week of sin is what people see - the one who brings out his "I"m a Christian" calling card when it suits him.

It's a shame, but this leads to other misunderstandings, like "Christians are judgemental", and "Christians don't practice what they preach"...and then you also get the mixups that Catholics and Christians are the same thing - and that the transubstantiation and other things are what we ALL subscribe to.

Don't be of this world!

Well...I rather be serving God than not serving God!  As the one phrase goes:  I rather live for Christ all my life...die and find out that I was wrong...rather than not live for Christ...die and find out that I should have been living for Him.  ~ Jeremy

Cheryl, you're killin' me here! lol  That's the opposite of my schiz tendency - I'll post a comment to someone's blog (or at least intend to), then check back later and find no comments, to my surprise. Then I wonder why the author deleted my comment! lol  What a mess.

Jeremy, it makes darn good sense to serve the Creator of the universe, the only "god" that has ever interacted directly with the material world and left behind witnesses (who wrote about what they saw). We're playin' it safe together, bro!

Dave, apparently there are a lot of dorks around here! (Does D.O.R.K. stand for anything? Sounds like it should...)

I think I'll have to get with Dennis or Gene to double check that Acronym.  I just had a friend tell me that ever since I gave my life to Christ I turned into a DORK.  Some one left a comment for that that really was a pretty good acronym.  Unfortunately of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most.
