So there I was . . . just relaxing in front of the T.V. when the kids yelled, "Hey Dad, come see the kittens!" |

"Sacre Maroon!" "My sweet peanut of brittle" "Come to me, my little melon-baby collie!" "Ah, my little darling, it is love at first sight, is it not, no?"

Norm, it does remind you of pepe, doesn't it?
That was my thought, too, Kathy...kids are going to need baths tonight!
I have no clue what happened after this. The email was short and to the point. I have asked. I'll post it once I know. |

| Growing up in the country, a cousin of mine had an orphan baby skunk as a pet. Cute, intelligent, and affectionate. That small, their glands are not yet developed and they can't spray and don't smell 'skunky' at all. At that time they were legal as pets and a vet could remove the gland under the tail before they reached maturity. Not sure if they can be kept anymore. It may vary state to state. But they're great fun if a friend or visitor DOESN'T know they can't spray. |

Thanks Norm. I won't hold my breath!!
Don, I had a friend who had a pet skunk, too. I liked it better than a cat, but I would like any pet better than a cat. |

I can understand why they'd like the "little kitties." The skunk has a very soft fur.
At boy scout camp, several years ago, we had a skunk walk through the camp and it freaked out a few people. Three of the boys decided to risk it and set up camp under a lean-to with a trail of popcorn to them. Shortly after 11:30, the skunk came in ti the lean-to, munching on popcorn. It sat on the chest of one of the boys and ate out of his hand - more popcorn. They were able to pet it and watch it until it got full and decided to leave. They were never sprayed and never made any threatening moves (probably the reason why). They actually make pretty good pets from what I hear (of course, I'd ask for some small surgery if I was to keep one. . . ). |

| Gene, those kids are either much braver than me or just more willing to take the risk. I hit a skunk once with my car and I will never, ever forget that smell...took months to get it off me and my car. |

They are sweet, very sweet. They only spray when they get scared. So think of them in this way. They are Sweet Skunks, who will adorn you their scent if you mess them. Signed... Animal Lover |
