OUCH!
Sunday night after church I was picking up some papers in the sound room when I got what I fear most! A paper cut! Go ahead, laugh but I can't stand these little distracting demons. I know they are no major thing, they just stay with you for days and remind you they are there every few minutes. I am typing this at my computer and everytime I use my right index finger it shouts a message to me: Paper cut! Paper cut! Enough already! I know, I am a wimp. I am not proud of it but that is the way it is, I am ashamed. I am a preacher so I have to make spiritual applications to everything. :) My wife hates this. Can't a paper cut just be a paper cut? Here it goes: spiritual paper cuts are those little attitudes we have towards others that pop up automatically when we see them, it happens so quick we sometimes don't even recognize it as an attitude, but it is there. What is the big deal? If we don't listen to God as gently reminds us this wrong, they will grow into something far worse, bitterness toward that person. I think this is one of the applications for the little foxes verse in the Old Testament. It is the little things, paper cuts, attitudes that can get us if we don't watch it and listen to God. End of sermon. 2:15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, That spoil the vineyards; For our vineyards are in blossom. I am going to soak my right index finger, did I tell you about my paper cut? |
