Research has shown health benefits of laughter ranging from strengthening the immune system to reducing food cravings to increasing one's threshold for pain. There's even an emerging therapeutic field known as humor therapy to help people heal more quickly, among other things. But in actuality, it is to split from the other sedate substance I write.

Plato's remark that "Even the gods love jokes." must be correct, for the value of laughter is recorded in sacred scripture. For example, the Koran states that "He deserves Paradise who makes his companions laugh."

For example? Is the Quran sacred scripture? I guess to the Muslims it is. It's not Sacred Scripture to me. Jesus is not the divine Son of God in the Quran, just a totally human prophet. And one inferior to Mohammed, who got the last word from God....not Jesus.
So it just figures, the Quran is wrong about deserving Paradise.

Actually, your sedate substance sometimes causes me to split...my sides. It is so much fun trying to figure out what you are really saying! It's like translating another language...Theologicalese. Please don't get angry...I'm not poking fun at your wonderful ability to be erudite (I finally learned how to spell that right).  I'm glad we Christians have another Francis Shaeffer on our hands.  We needed one to reach the others who speak your language.
Gerry and I are looking into visiting L'Abri....in Switzerland. Want to go skiing? You need a vacation. Besides, we can perhaps look into the need for another seminary there.
