| Got more ideas to stay In-tune? |

For many years those were my excuses “I don’t have time to read the Bible” “I don’t have time to pray”… “I’m too busy”.
Once I understand that praying and seeking God wasn’t an extra task, but a privilege instead. I started working more carefully on my schedule, and “time-stewardship”. the following are few things I do to stay connected with God during the day. What do you do? Have more ideas?
- I use my computer’s password to learn a new Bible verse. Every two weeks I renew my password, in that way I keep my email safe but I also learn a new verse during that period of time. Every time I type my password (bible verse) I quote it out loud. And I’m amazed how many verses I’ve learned! What make it better is the Holy Spirit brings to our remembrance the things we’ve learned!
- Traffic stinks! Praises NO! Atlanta is known by the nasty traffic. I understood that I can’t change that! For that reason when traffic is ahead, I take this time to praise Him.
- I silenced my cell phone. I have a friend that told me “Jeni, God never talk to me” and I said, maybe is because He doesn’t have cell phone. There are people that spend hours on the phone, and not necessary due an emergency. I turned off that thing!
- Audio-Bible. I got CDs with the New Testament and I downloaded it on my Ipod, and during my workout or in other time I listen to it.
- I tag my week. On Sundays I prepare my agenda for the coming week, generally I look at it and I prepare the TO-DO list. In that moment I tag my week, in the superior part of the weekly agenda I write my spiritual Goal for the week. For example this week I tagged: “Conquering my flesh”, I’m trying to take control of what I’m eating; I’m using as a backup verse “I assure you] by the pride which I have in you in [your fellowship and union with] Christ Jesus our Lord, that I die daily [I face death every day and die to self].” 1 Corinthians 15:31 (Amplified Bible). In that way I keep my eye single and I do not strangulate the Word with the many tasks

| Great blog. For me, having a good mentor is the key. This year, I've determined to learn direclty from my pastor. His knowledge, wisdom, and advice have really helped me in these early stages of 2008. |

| Man I love this post!! Love the password idea, traffic stinks here too so I've been taking a bus (and reading the Bible while riding!), I'd love to silence my cell phone forever, and I like the tagging the week idea too! |

| Great post. I've learned the hard way to keep a pad and pen at my bedside. The Lord shares some wonderful things to me in the middle of the night. I remember all of what I write down, almost none of what I don't. God Bless............. |

| Wonderful post. I have also decided that this year I will give more time to God. Before we go to bed, my husband and I each read a chapter from the Bible to each other, which is great for us a couple, because we get to spend some nice quiet, quality time with each other. |

| This is great time management, and also I find that when I do arise to pray and take that time, God maximizes my time somehow, be it Josiah sleeping longer,or me having this burst of energy where I accomplish so much more than I normally could, etc. Great blog. |

Like Mike, I read the Bible on the bus. On bad traffic days I get a good solid hour and a half reading time (both directions)! This year I'm going through the whole Bible in a year with a half-dozen other peers. Taking the bus has blossomed my faith since it gives me the opportunity to feast on the Word. For the past two years I've been striving to keep Sundays open for fellowship and spiritual activities. That means getting all my chores and errands done during the work week or on Saturday -- quite a challenge, but totally worth it! The best Sundays I've had are when I actively anticipate the coming Sunday two or three days in advance, go to church in the morning, attend adult Sunday School, hang out with Christians and have good spiritual conversations during the day, and attend another church service (or prayer meeting) in the evening. Those Sundays propel me beyond next Sunday! What a blast! Your idea of tagging the week is particularly challenging for me. I'll keep that in mind. |

I really want to disciple myself to keep Sundays open for fellowship, it's nice that you mentioned bcoz i have been thinking a lot on that! |
