I agree with you that when people don't have to be accountable, they tend to say things they would not otherwise say....also, most of us here are more apt to encourage than to tear down...part of that "Christ in us..." thing.

Totally agree with you...one of the greatest speeches of all time...

That's sad to hear that people have posted nasty comments

There's no good reason why people say hurtful things - do they think it's funny?  Edgy?  Do they really believe it?  Do they want to hurt someone?  Are they looking for attention (which is ironic since it's almost anonymous to post those things)?

The internet is a great place for fellowship, sharing of ideas, education oneself, but it also is a lot of garbage.  And much like the person that'd litter if it weren't for a fine they might have to pay, some people have no better thing to do than to throw their garbage around and ruin good things.

I hope when they say these things that at some point they will look back and realize where they are at in their heart and if it is lined-up to the plumb-line of Christ!  Excellent post, I like Kathy's too!

Superjsuh!!!  I had no idea you were the one who uploaded this onto YouTube!!!  That's pretty amazing!  And thanks for linking my blog here and there.  Maybe it'll bring us a couple of new MyChurch members!

Cathy, God still loves em (though their rebelliousness grieves him), let's try to remember that my friend!

I remember when he was speaking around the country and when his speak was broadcast on our little black and white tv.   As far as the bad comments go, I am glad you disabled the comments.  It is too bad we have to deal with them.  Just remember though that anyone who stands up for truth is going to be hated.  Jesus told us to prepare for suffering when the world knows we belong to Jesus, since the world hated Jesus, it will also hate us who follow Him.

I don't equate Martin Luther King with Jesus, but the truth that he espoused will be attacked.  Yes, he wasn't perfect, but his message of freedom and justice was right on.

Great blog!
