| Will you marry me "Virtual Marriages" by 2015 |
|
| |
Humans will love and marry robots by 2050, says artificial intelligence researcher
I was reading some headlines and i found this intereting...
"A Gartner analyst is predicting that 2% of US citizens will get married in virtual worlds by 2015 to people they have never met, and may never meet even after they are married. These online virtual marriages will carry all the same legal implications of marriages that take place in the "offline" world, the Gartner analyst claims.
Virtual brides and grooms may never, um, consummate the marriage, but they will have the same joint property rights as your mom and dad
In one quite limited sense, this marriage prediction is already reality. You can get married in Second Life, but it doesn't hold any legal implications in the real world.
Sarner acknowledges that US or state laws would have to be changed if virtual marriages are to be given the same force of law as real marriages."
My question is what is the purpose of this? Why should I marriage someone that I can't live with? If this is really happening what is the Biblical perspective of this?
I'm lost..........

| I think that we could find 2% of US citizens that would marry their sofas...if you get what I mean...yep, this is strange and I see no purpose in it at all. If marriage is only for the benefit of...well, you know...then maybe this makes sense. On the other hand, if marriage is the result of a love developed between two individuals who have free wills, then this makes absolutely no sense at all. Great post! |

| Tell me about it! And I was also thinking about "Virtual Divorce" because for sure there will be some............. :-! |

hahahahahahaha "marry their sofas"...that's a good one! But for real what about those thousands of people that hold "virtual relationships" And they have, what they call, "strong" online-relationship. For example, I have a couple of friends, in two different parts of the world, and they affirm to be TOTALLY in love of their "virtual-mate". For sure they will find this virtual marriage interesting and beneficial, But the question again will be based on the Bible is that ok?
good post! |

| There is an all out effort in our society to destroy marriage. Now they are using robots! I think I will stick with God's idea! |

| The Bible talks about how the enemy does not rest in his attacks against everything Godly. This is sickening, but not surprising. I think the best thing we can do is strengthen our faith, strengthen our marriages, strengthen our homes, strengthen our communities, and strengthen our country, by not just promoting or preaching Biblical marriage, but living it out. |

The Biblical standpoint -----> Man & Woman All the rest is the devil's foolishness and his desperate attempt to destroy what God established since the beginning of time. The devil has neither the power nor the authority to "create" so he takes from what God perfectly created to bring chaos and confusion. He works best under those circumstances. Our job is to allow others to see Jesus in us, in our families, in our every day life so they too will find Jesus and not be part of that 2%. And of course, let's INCREASE our prayers. Let God arise!!!! Let his enemies be scattered!! 10:35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee. |

The guy that says people will be marrying robots in the near future is just grabbing for a front page news article. He's an idiot. Regarding virtual marriages between humans, I think it is important to define what "marriage" is. From the article, I get a sense that to them, "marriage" is just a legal position which grants certain privilages barred from single people, like tax breaks. A month or two ago I glanced at People magazine in the rack and noticed that two celebrities in Hollywood divorced after three months because they didn't have time for each other. That's it. That was their reason. It seems Hollywood operating under a definition barely better than the definition of marriage used in the article. At least they have some vague concept that marriage involves a sharing of experiences together. So, strip even this barest notion away and you pave the way for "virtual" marriages, or marriages made with no physical contact (I take it "virtual" marriages are legally "real," unlike Second Life's "partnership" system). Some of my thoughts. |
