Todays positive thought I heard on the radio:
Keep your words soft and sweet because you never know when you will have to eat them. It's amazing how God can always bring the right message to you at the right time....last night in Bible Study we entered the Minor Prophets class and they were studying Habakkuk. I didn't realize what a cool book it was and what an interesting study this prophet is...anyway...the verse that hit home last night was:
2:4 Behold, his soul [which] is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
The second part of this verse (and various parts of this chapter) is quoted three times in the New Testament (at least)....Romans 1:17, Hebrews 10:38, and Galatians 3 (forget the verse...sorry)...
The point of the study last night at the end was to show how Habakkuk promised to remain faithful no matter what the future brought...
Also - I had never heard about this acronym before - but we discussed an acronym about what should all be contained in our prayers....it's called the A.C.T.S. principle of prayer
A - stands for Adoration...we should praise the characteristics of God C - stands for Confession...where we confess our sins before God and ask for forgiveness T - stands for Thankfulness....where we thank God for his provision and working in our lives S - stands for Supplication...where we bring our requests before God
The point made was that so often we skip the ACT part and go straight for the S....but we need to keep our prayers balanced...sometimes by focusing on God our problems become small and our outlook will improve....
Anyway...these things were all a blessing to me...I hope they were to you as well.
Grace and peace and blessings to you all today..... |
