The product will sell itself!

Burger King has just launched several commercials in an effort to sell there number  one item "The Whopper", although I am not a real big fan of that burger it just amazes me that they would stoop to such levels to sell a burger that has sold itself for many years.

They have used Violence, Trying to Kill the King, They have used switching the burger with a burger from somewhere else, and they have used the customer to use violence , against the cashier that served the burger!

I think first of all this is sad because it's supposed to be a family restaurant, but I am trying to show you that if a product sells itself why go to something else!


Does this sound like the Church?
Jesus is the product " although not for sale"
It is his Church he said he would build!
He has given himself to the family for years!

So why is the Church now trying to promote a product that sells it's self!
                 Or should I say gives       
                           Himself?
The mandate is clear:                                                              The word is clear:
28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.

God has said that He will build His church, not that He was just gonna try and see what happened.  That doesn't sound to me like someone who needs a marketing director!

So right there Keith, Jesus does the work some times through us, some times not, but it is all Jesus doing the giving/selling!

Right On, Evangelist Keith,
Just as i said in my blog, this world is so bent on upholding the violence that this kind of commercial represents, that they can not see that it is dangerous to our families, especially to our kids! Although i was a big fan of the Whopper, i can no longer go into burger king. We need to swamp the corporation with our protest! T It is high time that they know that we do not appreciate this kind of advertisement with all this violence! Thank you for this!

Hi there!

I stumbled across your blog today and just had to comment.  You are right - Jesus can sell himself.  The problem is that we have been marketing a "sweetness and light Jesus" and not the real Jesus.  We have been telling them that if they accept Jesus that they will have a great life.

While I would be the first to say that my life has changed since I found Jesus, I certainly wouldn't say that it has always been better!  Knowing Jesus can mean persecution, difficulty and strife!   What I can say is that Jesus has seen me through all of that and that he never fails me.

Why aren't we telling people the truth?  That without salvation from sin they will go to hell, and only Jesus can provide that salvation.  When they hear this, then they can choose for themselves whom they will serve.

Yes, Jesus will sell himself - but only if we tell the truth about him - just like Burger King needs to do with their Whopper Burgers!
