Today was unusually cloudy, with just a light shower early in the morning. By 10:30am, I've already thought of where to eat to take advantage of the relatively cold weather. Read in a blog not too long ago about this Yong Tau Fu eatery on Jalan Ipoh (actually its located on Jalan Duta, on the Segambut side), uncreatively named Restoran Ipoh Road Yong Tow Foo.
Hauled 2 colleagues to join my makan expedition, namely Rachel and Sara. And then my 3 bosses also interested to join us. Oh well, the more the merrier!
From my office in Damansara Heights, it took us only about 15 minutes to drive to the restaurant, via Jalan Duta. The restaurant is actually operating in a bungalow, and parking is limited here. Fortunately, they have a traffic controller whom will direct you to where you can park. Some cars are parked haphazardly, blocking other cars. I guess you just have to be ready to check and remove your car whenever you hear someone honking.

Getting a table during the lunch peak hours (11:30am - 2:00pm) can be a frustrating affair too, especially when some inconsiderate people decided to just sit around and chat or read newspaper for 5 or 10 minutes. Grrr...

Once you get a table, all frustrations will be gone as services are fast and efficient. The waitress will hand you a menu with check boxes for you to tick your selections (and amount as well). You hand the menu back to any waitress, and within minutes the food will arrives on your table. Neat huh?
The first to arrived is the Paper-Wrapped Chicken. Ordered 3 pieces only as I know most of the girl will be turned off by the excessive oil.
You gotta get your hands dirty in order to unwrapped the chicken, as it is pretty difficult to do that with your chopsticks and spoons...trust me. But the hard work is worth it coz the chicken does look good, and tastes real good too. Thumbs up for this.

Then the other food all arrived at the same time: * The fried dumplings (Char Sui Kow) and fried beancurd sticks (Char Fu Chuk)
 * Fish balls, Steamed Dumplings (Sui Kow) with complimentary soup and green vege * The mixed lots: White Tau Foo, Fried Tau Foo, brinjal, ladyfingers, chillis and bittergourd
Besides the usual Yong Tau Foo, they also sell Rojak (local fruit & vege salad), a popular choice for the girls.

All these yummy food, coupled with a glass of cold Herbal Tea......what more can you ask for?
My colleagues were amused by the way I eat my White Tau Foo, except for Rachel whom has seen me eating Tau Foo Fa (Sweet Soy Pudding) with the same style. * Smashed the tau foo into hundreds of small pieces, pour a generous amount of sweet sauce, and mix it all together! Yummm......
All usual types of Yong Tau Fu cost RM0.70 each, which is the standard market price nowadays. Not sure of the price of the chicken, rojak and the drinks as my boss was the one that paid the bill. Taste-wise, its nice although I won't say it is extra-ordinary. And in my opinion, it is not as good as the one in Jalan Peel, and of course the Ground Zero of all Yong Tau Foo, the Orchard View Restaurant in Pekan Ampang.

But because of the close proximity to my working place, and the good service, I will definitely come back again. I've included the map of the restaurant's location, in case any of you wanna give it a try as well. Bon appetit!
