| Does sin really bug you? |

Some of you were introduced to a different side of my Timothy yesterday. He growled at most anyone who tried to talk to him when we first got to church. He was very upset -- actually hysterical --- over his socks.
You see, one of Timothy's autistic-like issues is that he doesn't handle change very well. He's worn the same kind of socks for several years, but now that he is getting older, he is beginning to outgrow the toddler sizes. The same type of socks he has always had do not fit him any more, so when I bought new socks on Saturday, I got the smallest boy size I could find. They looked alot like the socks he had been wearing, and I didn't think he would notice the difference.
Well he did - he knew they were not quite right - and he went nuts. He screamed all the way to church -- all the way into church - and for the first little while we were at church. I tried everything to convince him that those socks were o.k, but he wasn't buying it.
So, I finally decided to take off his shoes and put on the socks differently -- and turn them down just so. I convinced him that they were just like his old ones. He was skeptical at first, but finally I convinced him that they were the same as always, and he kept the socks on and went on to his class.
I was thinking about that last night and realized that we should be as bothered by a little ungodly change in our life, as Timothy was bothered about those socks. See, it can be a subtle sin -- just a little "off". At first we may balk at it and fight it off, but then satan comes along and does his best to convince us that there is nothing wrong with that little sin -- just like I was trying to convince Timothy that there was nothing wrong with those socks -- he tries to convince us that it's really not a sin at all. He tries cover it up so it doesn't look like sin - but it still is.
I don't want satan to ever convince me that a little sin is not a big deal anymore. I want to be more like Timothy -- kicking and screaming and fighting to get away from that sin. |

"Great blog, thought inspiring ! Does sin really bug me?" like hell it does, especially in me. (the idea of ending up in hell bugs, bothers, sobers me) 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. May we never become so hardened, that sin doesn't bother us.........."while it is called today", tomorrow may be too late................. |

| Amen! Too many people have been convinced that sin is "just okay" for all sorts of reasons. Sin can too often get in the way of God's will in our lives. I am currently reading a book titled "The Virtue Driven Life" by Benedict J. Groeschel. I will post my thoughts on the book in the review section when I'm finished reading. |
