A few years ago The Church I was going found out I wrote poems. And they wanted me to write one for Valentines Day. What they didn't understand is that I get my poems from God,you just can't set down and write one down.
   I thought and thought but nothing!
   Then I went back to when I went to school and we had a Valentines box that we put our Valentines cards in. My Mom always made sure that I gave everyone a card so noone was left out. Well most times I felt like Charley Brown I gave everyone and I didn't get a one not even from my teacher! Now tell us the truth has that ever happen to you? Or do you know what that feels like?
  And what made it harder is that my Dad died August of that year 1986 so I wasn't feeling very loving!
  So I look up about Valentine Day. This is what I found.
     Stain Valentine, the name of several saints in the early church. The best known of them was a Roman priest, possibly identified with Valentine Bishop of Spoleto, Who was martyred February 14th,A.D. 271.
      Saint Valentine's Day is celebrated as a lovers' feast, arose the custom of sending "valentines", missives or tokens of an amatory nature, on February 14th. The practice is probably a pagan survival; some connect it with the old idea that the birds began to mate on this day.
      So I thought when was the last time we gave God Our loving Father A Valentine? If you were like me never! The one that Made us gave us the right to love others that made love itself may have never got a Valentine and that not right at all!
   I wrote this not for anyone person But for My Heavenly Father. It was put in the Church News Letter on 2-10-86.
                           A Valentine For God
            Your love was there in my good times.
             Your love was there in my bad times.
             Your love took the lonely out of loneliness
              and the tears out of fear.
              Your love is here.
               Your love was there when I was also bad.
                Your love was there when I was very sad.
                Your love took the lonely out of loneliness and
                the tears out of fear.

                 Your love is brighter than the sunshine.
                 Your love is my shrine.
                  Your love took the lonely out of loneliness and
                   the tears out of fear.

     So this was my Valentine for God. Now It's your turn to send God your Valentine all He wants is your love. He gives you His love everyday. So tell us how much you love Our Father in Heaven don't let another moment go by!
