| New commision from a different angle... |
|
| |
Romans 10 in the NIV has to say.
12For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."[a] 14How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
me I struggle to focus Jesus, instead of myself. I'm not smart enough, hip enough, I need dental work, I'm not eloquest enough, what if I break out in sarcasm. Sheesh whatever happened to trusting the lord and doing the best I can with the gifts that I got.
this ain't much of a Blog but I didn't wanna sit silently for long.
Blessings,
Dave |

| This is all to say that the word says to love your neighbor as yourself. which don't mean much when we continue to hate ourselves. |

Dave, we are strongest in our weaknesses: 12:8 Concerning this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 12:9 And he hath said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for `my' power is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 12:10 Wherefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Don't beat yourself up, it's the "I'm not...enough"'s that God uses for his purposes!
Blessings, Hugs and Love, Prudence :) |

Dave, God does use us in our weaknesses. He does the work, we are just along for the ride. I agree with Paul, great scripture Prudence, right to the point! peace |

| Hey Dave, I think there's a difference between (1) knowing who you are/esteeming others higher than yourself AND (2) downright despising yourself. #1 is biblical, #2 is not. God thought highly enough of you and I to sacrifice his Son for each of us. The Bible makes it very clear he deals w/each person eternally on the basis of our individuality, not as a collective. So when I read "Ah, Sovereign LORD...Your eyes are open to all the ways of men; you reward everyone according to his conduct and as his deeds deserve," that tells me Jesus made atonement for ME. It also says "love your neighbor as yourself", thus we must have a healthy regard for ourselves. I struggle with this, as I would guess many who are on the humble side do. God bless you Dave, you're doing great things for God!! ~mike |

You know what yall If God's strength can be glorified by my weakness, I'm good to go.

Dave, He uses an ugly mutt like me every now and then...just ask Bay.
Great post. Makes us realize that without Him, we'd just be losers wandering through time. With Him, I am a new creation, a son of the living God, being transformed into His image...yep, that's me. |

I liked your simple, short blog, too.
I will add, yes--no difference in Jew or Gentile since we (gentiles) were grafted in. Thank God for that!
I think we all struggle sometimes and I don't think it is wrong to admit it. The Scripture encourages us to encourage each other and how do we know when another needs encouragement unless they share an area of struggle.

I'm not smart enough, hip enough, I need dental work, I'm not eloquest enough, what if I break out in sarcasm. Sheesh whatever happened to trusting the lord and doing the best I can with the gifts that I got. Moses was probably a stutterer; Peter denied Jesus; David gave in to lust; Gideon was wishy-washy in his faith. God used them all. Just like all of us, they were the ordinary being used for the extraordinary. It just takes a willing heart, and I think you have that, Dave! |
