Today in my online devotional they talked about 1 Peter 5:6.
5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time; I thought about a time when I was a kid. Some older boys had taken my bicycle and wouldn't let me have it. They had taken a two or three other kids bikes and they were chasing them around the play ground tyring to get their bikes back. I was just sitting on the wall. One of my friends asked me "why aren't you tyring to get your bike back." I told him I will get my bike back in seven minutes. You see my brother got off the bus at my school and walked home with me. By brother was ten years older than me, and he had taken care of these boys before. As a matter of fact when the bus pulled up the boys got off the bikes and started running. My brother like he knew what had been happening jumped on my bike and run them down. They never offered to touch my stuff again. We should feel like I did on that wall. You say I have cancer, my brother Jesus Christ has handled that before. Have your fun for awhile cancer, it won't last long. I'm humbling myself to God not you. He will exalt me. I don't know if it will be in this life or the next. But when he does you will be running. Things not going your way, humble yourself to God you will be exalted.
