THIS IS A PICTURE OF LAKIN BROWN.. POOR THING, THEY SAID SHE ALWAYS CARRIED BRUISES LIKE THIS OR WORSE (AND MUCH, MUCH WORSE WHEN SHE DIED)
HER GRANDMA AND GREAT GRANDMA TRIED EVERYTHING THEY COULD DO TO GET THE LAW OR SOCIAL SERVICE DEPARTMENT INVOLVED... SHE'S FINALLY IN A BETTER, LOVING, MUCH SAFER PLACE NOW ... GOD'S ARMS! ANYWAY, NOW THEY ARE JUST PUTTING THEIR EFFORTS TO PROTECTING OTHER INNOCENT CHILDREN (PLEASE PRAY FOR THE RELATIVES)
This is a portion of an e-mail that I recevied from one of our members. This two year old died a tragic death in our area a few days ago. As I looked into her eyes my heart broke as I saw the hurt and the pain that is there. This event rocked our small community and we were once again reminded of the fallen world that we live in, all kind of things shot through my mind.
Could we as a church have made a difference?
Sunday school is not a play school that we do on the weekends,we need to get the gospel to these boys and girls for we never know when will be our last chance to tell them about Jesus.
I never know what people around me are going through even little ones.
I can understand why churches are now doing background checks on children's workers.
The importance of the church making a difference in people's lives can't be overstated.
This is a sad, sad story but for the believer this is not the end of the story. I find great comfort knowing that Lakin is safe in the arms of Jesus.
