| Wesley's Lamont Award - Planning for 2008 |

Alright, if you don't listen to Yolanda Adam's Morning Show, you will not really get the title. The Lamont Award is given to people who does something really dumb. Most shows do it, sometimes it's called "Stupid Criminals" or something along those lines. But anwho, I had to give myself the Lamont Award this morning for my planning for 2008.
Last month, in the S.P.O.T. meeting (Singles Purposed On Transformation) their was a charge given out to write down the vision and the goals that God gives us for 2008. It was an awesome meeting and everyone was excited about moving forward into 2008. It really all began on the Refuge Living Sanctuary's New Year's Eve Service when Pastors Mark & Kevan taught on "On Your Mark, Get Set, Grow!". God used them to prepare us for 2 purposes: 1. The Fullness of the Blessing without Measure & 2. Finalizing the Divorce from the world's system. So practically, we prepared by making short and long term goals to fulfill God's Purpose for this year.
So here's the deal, I didn't really complete my 2008 planning yet (yeah, I'm puttin myself out there) so I made a decision to complete it today. Sounds good right? No. I'm sitting motionlessly in my cubicle at work trying to write out the goals for the different roles that I have (ie. Man of God, Family, Church, Work, School, Friends, etc.) and I can't think of anything! I'm totally stuck. I'm entering a year of overflow and I have no flow coming out of me. What is this about? I'm not going to make up anything and I have no peace about anything I can think of. So I finally get frustrated and ask God for help. This is when I finally realize I have received the Lamont Award....
All these Scriptures come into my spirit when I finally get in place...
16:18 Pride [goeth] before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
20:18 [Every] purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
19:20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. 19:21 [There are] many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
11:14 Where no counsel [is], the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors [there is] safety.
24:3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: 24:4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. 24:5 A wise man [is] strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. 24:6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors [there is] safety. 24:7 Wisdom [is] too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate. I was about to embark on 2008 without the counsel of the Lord! Yes, that is worthy of the Lamont Award. But think about it, how many times have we done something without consulting God? Hey, how about the times we call ourselves "praying" but we say everything and never wait for a response. Sounds familiar? Not only does our Lord wants to consult with us, God has given us examples in the Body of Christ to consult with to establish our purposes and to bring the vision of God to past. I had a vision, but a true vision is a revelation from God. It is something worthy of writing down because it will truly come to pass (Habbakkuk 2:2-4).
I now know what God wants me to do and He has instructed me to see some people that will keep me accountable to bring it to pass. He has also instructed me to talk to people who have already done what I am going to accomplish in 2008. I will not be like the fool who does not open his mouth at the gate of wisdom. I will hear some counsel and receive some instructions that will allow God to flow through me and accomplish everything this year. I know this, I will not look back at 2008 and say, "man I wish I would have..." Whatever. I am on my mark and set to grow. I am fully embracing the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and divorcing myself from the world system. And I am definitely going to experience the fullness of the Blessing without Measure!
If you were about to receive the Lamont Award this year, just stop everything and allow God to show you His purpose and direction for this year. Receive counsel for this year. Don't miss the mark that God has for you in 2008 (Did you know that sin means to miss the mark?). Experience the overflow in Christ in every area of your life in 2008.
I pray this helps you in your walk with Christ....
