| Independance in the family of God |

It never ceases to amaze me when Christians act independently of one another. I do not know if it is the basic self centered nature of the sinful self or that in the midst of a stress or struggle many believers turn their coping to internal mechanisms. Whatever the motivation or cause of independant actions, to act on one's own accord ceases to acknowledge the benefit of being part of a community of faith. Several passages come to mind in relation to the support we have as believers in Christ.
4:12 And if a man prevail against him that is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken. How shall we stand, weak or strong? Faith has it's privileges.
28:20 teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Christ even noted in HIS last instructions that HE would ALWAYS be with us to the end of the days.
What an encouragement that when craziness invades we can find help in the arms of Christ and the community of Faith. |
