Well as I've just been doing drive by's lately. Here's my 2 cents. Would you go to a church run by a pastor because he says he's a christian or go to the one that has the same beliefs he does? Would you go to a dentist because he was a christian or because he did a good job cleaning your teeth (and charged less). If you take your kids to daycare would you take them to the christian child care center where they charge more and still have ideas that oppose yours (say for instance if you're not Catholic and the day care center is)? Would you vote for the christian who is for abortions, gay marriage, and many other items that you don't agree with... or would you vote for a candidate who is pro family and has very few points you disagree with (who may or may not be a christian?) I do think that being a christian should play a part at some point. But there are too many other things in play here. And I have trouble buying "Christianity" as a platform. And by that I mean that seems to be the marketing point of the person running. That ends up being sad. |
