A+ Student
As many of you know; I have a daughter, her name is Vanessa; she is in kindergarten and has 5 and ½ years old.
The scholar year 2007-2008 has been a little bit hard for her in some areas such as phonetic and handwriting. In her first quarter her reports showed a big “F” in handwriting; I have to admit that it was hard for me; because I always was an “A” student. But I want to teach her the importance of excellence without the burden of performance that I carried out for years.
I prayed about it and then I explained what that “F” means; she seemed Ok and she also committed herself to make it an “A”.
Next morning we walked into the school and she noticed a big chart hanging on the wall with names on in. She asked me- What’s this mommy? - I said - it a chart that contains the names of all honored students, it means only those with A and B can be in that list.
She stopped and read carefully each name, suddenly. And she said to me I will be here. I said I will support you!
Since that moment she has received two report cards, she is doing better now, She turned that “F” into a “C”, but she was a little disappointed because she is working so hard and she hasn’t make it “A”.
What can I say Lord? – I thought. In that moment I just said – It’s Ok baby, I’m proud of you, keep going! She smiled; but she wasn’t totally satisfied with my words of encourage.
Next morning, we walked again and she looked at that chart and said – “I still not in that thing!” I stopped her in front of that chart and I said:
“What make you think that you are not there? Vanessa it’s not about a name hanging on that wall; it’s that you are 100% committed to do it. God doesn’t look at that chart, God look your heart!
Do you know what is He seeing right now? A young lady that is not conformed to what she got and she is totally committed. God is honored because you have and INTENTIONAL CHANGING ATTITUDE.
Vanessa, you only have to be patient, if you keep doing what you are doing you will see the results, but you are already an “A+”! You already got the motivation, you took the decision, you are pressing on to reach that goal…You already got it! It’s just a matter of time!
She gave me a BIG and beautiful smile, I saw freedom on her little brown eyes, “I’m an A, she said”
I felt so ministered by the Holy Spirit while I explained it to her, because I have been there.
Sometimes I feel that I’m working on changing many things in my life and I haven’t got the outcomes I want.
But that day I realized that I’m quite far from my start’s point , I’m not yet where I supposed to be, But I’m already an “A”. God is honored with my heart …A heart that is not conformed but transforming each day at the time…I’m already there; it’s just a matter of time.

WONDERFUL post!!!! Thank you for making me see I am a "A" in God's eyes, when it comes to my parenting today. I cant go back and look at all the mistakes i made with my sons when they were little, I didn't have the tools, the guidance of God in my heart......I have it today!!!

| She will be there next semester because she is determined to make that A-list. However, she said it best when she stated, "I’m an A"! |

Out of the mouths of babes...I love it! God will use children to make us understand our relationship with Him. I sat here reading and had that "awww" moment. Then I thought to myself, that's what God must be saying when He hears my prayers. I'm an A+ in His eyes and that's all that matters. Gracias por compartir tu experiencia. Aún hay más! |
