| Whose voice will you listen to? |

| There's something I've been chewing on awhile that is helping me--so I thought I'd share it with you all. How do I begin......The righteous are offended at nothing, right? So Lord, why am I getting offended? Why does stupid, little stuff get to me? Mrs. W and my husband have said to me, "Don't let the little foxes get ya." God's answer was strong, but it has helped me simplify things. He said, "Esau sold his birthright for a meal." Wow. What's the loudest voice in your life? There are tons of them everywhere. It goes with what happened at church last night--are we going to let the flesh be the loudest voice? Me, for example--I had a little gas bubble in my stomach that was bothering me during pre-service prayer. Correction...I was letting it bother me. Was I going to let a "little gas bubble in my stomach" be a louder voice than God's?!?! Do you see the insanity?! When I compare a gas bubble voice to God's voice, it is no comparison! I choose God's voice. That little gas bubble is nothing. I don't want to trivialize things either. I know people have a lot of stuff going on in their lives, in their bodies, etc. that are muuuuch bigger than gas bubbles--but compared to God's voice, is there really any comparison? Is the $3000 hospital bill going to be a louder voice than God's? Absolutely not! Because He is my source (by the way, God paid that for us this week!). Am I going to sell my connection to God for gas bubbles? You see, when you sell something that means it is something that you already have; but you choose to give it over for something else. I thank you God for helping me simplify things. When You teach me, it builds me. Now I see why the righteous are offended at nothing--because they choose to have Your voice be the loudest in their lives (they don't want anything hindering His voice from coming in loud and clear). Because Your voice is full of love, it builds, it encourages, it comforts, ..... |
