I have some questions on this maybe all of you can answer them! The Big Question I have is which one is right? Help me? Questions: 1) Which is worth more,to have many"things"or to have Jesus? What do you think? 2) Will "things" ever get us to Heaven? Will they make us as happy as a godly life? From Jewish New Testament written 1979-1997 years:
In Mattityahu (Matthew) ch. 19:16-24 A man approached Yeshua (Jesus) and said,"Rabbi, what good thing should I do in order to have eternal life?"He said to him,"Why are you asking me about good? There is One who is good! But if you want to obtain eternal life, observe the Mitzvot (commandments)". The man asked Him "Which ones?" and Yeshua (Jesus) said,"Don't murder, don't commit adultery, don't steal, don't give false testimony, honor father and mother and love your neighbor as yourself. The young man said to Him,"I have kept all these",Where do I still fall short?" Yeshua said to him,"If you are serious about reaching the goal,go and sell your possessions, give to the poor, and you will have riches in Heaven. Then come, follow me!But when the young man heard this,he went away sad, because he was wealthy. Then Yeshua (Jesus) said to his Talmidim (disciples) "Yes.I tell you that it will be very hard for a rich man to enter the Kingdom Of Heaven.Furthermore,I tell you that it is easier for a camel to pass through a needle's eye than for a rich man enter The Kingdom of Heaven."
Jesus spoke Aramaic word "Gamia" mean camel;or a rope;or a beam, when Jesus, speaking in the only language He knew,Aramaic, said, "DADLIL LGAMLA LMEAL BAKHRORA DAMGATA AU ATIRA DNEAOL LMACOOTHA DALAHA". He actually said "It is easier for a rope to go through the eye of a needle then for a rich man to enter into The Kingdom of God."In fact,He was only using a very popular expression of the day, Eastern Women when shopping for thread would often say,if the thread was too thick,"It is a rope,it will not go through the eye of my needle!" This was done by Prof. George M. Lamsa in the 1920's Aramaic Language was his own mother-tongue!
I always heard that the eye of a needle was a small gate at the entrance of Jerusalem and other cities. When the city-keepers had locked the main gates, the smaller door was left open for awhile to let the stragglers come in.
But a loaded camel could not go through this needle's eye, first the camel's burdens had to be removed from his back. Then the animal had to kneel down and squeeze through the smaller opening.
We to are "bound up in our riches,"or burdened down with our sins. So to get through the gate we have to unload all burdens at the cross and we must kneel, a posture of humility, and go through with difficulty. No, it is not easy when we are burden. They say there is no evidence for such a gate, nor record of reprimand of the architect of a small door. But I have a photograph of a door in a book called Family Bible Library page 183 copyright 1971. Jesus had women and men following Him,who's to say that He didn't speak in such away that women would see it as a rope and men as a door. And to say He only spoke Arabic is narrow minded don't you think? After all He was God and they spoke Greek and Latin in His Time. So what do you think?
