2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. I'm new to this site, and our church is new to the web. We all must study to show ourselves approved unto God. Note that he doesn't say approved unto men. Just a thought to throw out there.
Also note that if we don't study, we're unable to run the race. Our study of the scriptures is what enables us to throw off the weights of sin. We are running with patience though. Nothing worth doing is worth hurrying through. Part of running the race is studying patiently, praying patiently, waiting patiently, working patiently, and growing patiently. |
