Have you heard that we are in the Laodocian Church Age?  What are the reasons that is true?  Why are most of the famous Christian preachers just teaching psychology or spiritual theories (adding to the Bible) or mostly promoting signs and wonders and prosperity seeking?  Where is Christ-likeness in most Christian churches?  Why are so many just doing religion for a couple of hours on Saturday morning or Sunday morning? How many are doing their share of the Great Commission?

The Ten Commandments were the only of such written by God the Father Himself.

Matthew 5:17-20 Jesus Christ said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the Law, or the prophets; I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, until Heaven and Earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law, until all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, He shall be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the Kingdom of Heaven." This quote was not for just the time before Jesus died, but for afterwards too.  And Jesus goes on and explains about his challenge to His disciples.

And Galatians 3:24-25 do not say that the Ten Commandments were destroyed:  "Wherefore the Law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster."  Ephesians 2:1-10 does not either.  But the New Testament does say that true born-again adopted children of God are no longer under the Law.  But it is clear that Jesus Christ in human form, the Apostle Paul and their followers were with the Law in doing ministry to and for others.  And Jesus Christ said several times that if we love Him, we would obey His teachings and commandments.  Each of such is related to one of the Ten Commandments.  If you counted the verses about exhortations and commandments in the New Testament and then counted the verses about God's wonderful grace and love, you might really be surprised.  Remember the old hymn, "Trust and Obey".  But we shoould want to be good and more and more Christ-like just because of our thankfuls and love for God the Father and Jesus Christ.  That is not legalism and is indicated in Romans 14:17 as part of the Kingdom of Heaven.  Worthless Christianity is in churches which are not teaching the exhortations and commandments in the New Testament.

These passages also came to my mind as I thought about your blog:

Hebrews 10:

“19  Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

20  By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

21  And having an high priest over the house of God;

22  Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

23  Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

24  And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

25  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

Galatians 6:

“1  Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

2  Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

3  For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

4  But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

5  For every man shall bear his own burden.

6  Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.

7  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

8  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

9  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

10  As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”

Jude (via the Amplified Bible)

“20    But you, beloved,

              build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith

                  [make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher],

              praying in the Holy Spirit;

21          guard {and} keep yourselves in the love of God;

              expect {and} patiently wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)--

                  [which will bring you] unto life eternal.

22          and on some have mercy and compassion who waver {and} doubt.

23          [Strive to] save others, snatching [them] out of [the] fire;

              on others have pity [but] with fear,

                   loathing even the garment spotted by the flesh

                      {and} polluted by their sensuality.

24          Now to Him Who is able to keep you without stumbling {or} slipping {or} falling,

                   and to present [you] unblemished (blameless and faultless)

                        before the presence of His glory

                             in triumphant joy {and} exultation [with unspeakable, ecstatic delight]--

25                              to the one only God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord,

                                       be glory (splendor), majesty, might {and} dominion,

                                            and power {and} authority, before all time and now and forever

                                                  (unto all the ages of eternity). Amen (so be it).”

For a future blog or series of blogs, could you expound on John 14-17?
