| My Friend Needs Your Prayers and Encouragement |

I was permitted today to post this. Please read this in full and respond.
Scott Hudnall was arrested over 3 months ago. The charge...breaking and entering into HIS OWN FURNITURE STORE. The landlord had not legally filed the paperwork to evict him and he had been told by the local authorities to go in and get his stuff out. He did and while he was the same deputies he was told to call if he had any problems came and arrested them. The land lord stated that he had been evicted and was breaking into the store...which is a lie. So you will know, Scott had taken over a furniture store chain that was in financial dissarray beyond what he could have ever understood and was trying to work through it and get the wheels turning as he had done for other stores.
Upon his arrest, a tv news crew posted a story that made him look like a criminal and people who had ordered furniture but not yet received it began to panic. Soon they were accusing him of stealing their money. Most of the people who made the accusations were actually lay-away situations who had only paid $100. Didn't matter. The scene in St Bernard Parish (devasted by Katrina) is bleak. Due to the extreme amount of scams done by businesses (mostly fake contractors) they imprison 1st and ask questions later.
Scott was placed in St Bernard Jail, and has yet to see his day. His lawyer copped out. He has all of the proof necessary to prove the allegations of being a con are wrong. The arresting officers admitted they never actually saw the legal eviction documents (they were never filed) but the judge refuses to hear it. The judge told Scott's lawyer that he didn't want to hear any more about it and Scott's lawyer has all but disappeared and assessed Scott's bail at $300,000.00!!! The lawyer has missed court dates etc and they want to lock Scott up for 6-8 years...and he is innocent. It is ridiculous.
To add insult to injury, Scott's wife, Ruth (http://www.mychurch.org/hudnalls) has been staying in Indiana to keep their other store open and try to maintain finances to get Scott out so he can get the case resolved. However, the landlord of that store heard of Scott's situation, and illegally evicted Ruth. It has been almost a month since she has been able o do anything. There is no money...and hope is dissolving. Ruth had a court date today (countersuit) with a lawyer who said he would defend her for free taking off the top of the reward but at the court changed his mind and told her she would have to pay a retainer and that she should probably find another lawyer.
The judge ruled today that Ruth could get in the store and get her personal belongings and the paperwork out. He will review what has been done and make a decision Monday to whether or not Ruth can be allowed to get back in the store and resume business.
In all of this, the prison that Scott has landed in does not allow outside ministry to the prisoners. Scott has been holding Bible studies and preaching just about every day. Ruth has been in fellowship with some believers in Indiana but they are newly weds (less than one year) and it is tough.
They both gave me permission to post this so I have some requests from you guys
1) Please pray for Ruth and Scott
a) favor with the judge and district attorney in St Bernard parish
b) favor with the judge and landlord in Indiana and that Ruth can get back to the business
c) the truth of what has happened will surface and liars and criminals will be exposed
d) Scott is released back to his family and this ends
2) People of God, please contact Ruth http://www.mychurch.org/hudnalls
She needs prayer and encouragement. She is alone and that is a nightmare. She needs the body of believers to embrace her and wrap her in.

| We are praying for this couple...that they have the favor of the Lord....My parents are also going through legal issues....we are keeping the hope and faith alive....and so far the outcomes have been in our favor...so keep the hope alive, and always have faith..God will turn this situation around to glorify him...praying for you and your friends... |

| I am praying for them. The Lord will vindicate them, the hidden things will be revealed, the Lord bring along side those who will help this couple, favor with the judges and with laywers and all that the enemy has stolen or tried to steal will be restored, in Jesus' name. |

| We Pray to the Almighty Father that the situations will be changed in no time. That the business of this Brother will be restored and will be flourishing once more for the Glory of God. Christian Businesses are planted in the market place so that we are the witnesses in the Market place. God will never allow satan and his team to vandalise Christian Businesses - wherever they are. It is hard to believe that here in the US this stuff could happen but with the way things are in St Bernard parish (county for you foreigners) still not recovered from the storm, the sheriffs department has all call and will not admit mistakes.
Sickening is the fact that the parish leaders accompanied him to the store aloong with his attorney and that the eviction wasn't filed until the next week. But the Sheriffs department has threatened all of them to not testify or they will also be arrested...and the sick thing is they are complying b/c no one is here to balance their authority. Please pray and continue

Somehow or another his bail has been cut in half. They claimed there were "well over 50" charges from customers and now that number is down to 19.
God is doing something. |

| Scott said he had someone look into his file at the Sheriff's dept and no one can make heads or tails of it. This says alot about the whole situation. There are now two teams of people looking into all this. |

Wow... like I came online tonight to just basically look for some answers in some job/work/possible legal stuff in my life, and I found this post through Cheryl requesting prayers. Please don't think I'm making this about me and my (relatively small problems) I do believe God guided me to come on here tonight to help me with perspective, and to remind me that there are others who, in the face of far worse circumstances, still try to reach out to others about the Kingdom of God. These people are strangers to me, but brothers and sisters in Christ, and I am praying for them and asking the Lord to clear their names, their legal issues, and keep them in His embrace. |

| wow what a situation... i'll be praying for sure... my brother in law has a friend in the same kind of situation :( his step dad shot himself and they are trying to blame it on him, and he has actually been sentenced to 8 years i think, 6 on good behavior... and he didn't do it... he had shot guns earlier that day, so there was GPR on his hands, but only the lead... which proves that he didn't do it, but it doesn't matter the proof apparently, whoever has the most money wins. its really lame. may God reach down and comfort them for sure. |

Scott is out of jail. He still has to go to court in september and we need to be praying for God's favor with the system. But he is out. Thankyou all of you for your prayers and words. Ruth won't be getting to see him until the 2nd of August but HE IS OUT!!! |

Sorry Juan, I wouldn't believe it if I were not from here...but it is true. St Bernard Parish (Louisiana's word for county) is becoming well known for this in the area. Most contractors are refusing to work within the borders causing a huge delay in rebuilding from Katrina b/c they arrest business owners here without question and hold them as long as possible blackmailing them to get a conviction...I won't work in there...
And it wasn't tresspassing, they had to drop that charge (although that was the original arresting charge) but to keep him they were able to drum up some other false charges...people here panick and will accuse before question |
