The one thought that is always on my mind is "today did I do all I could to promote the kingdom of GOD". What did I not get done ( OK I'm a workaholic those who know me personally they will attest to this) and how can I do better tomorrow.
I am sometimes impatient and want things done like yesterday. I have to remember that in the real world not everyone has the same agenda, the same ideas, or work on the same time-frame as I do. For-the rest of this week and all of next i am going to read this scripture 3 times a day:
Jas 5:10-11 (10) Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. (11) Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
I believe there are situations that you-know you want to vent in but you know that you shouldn't and you don't. There are things there are faults that will cause impatience to flair its evil head. We can not as Christians give into the temptation of either dwelling on it internally or speaking it externally when something doesn't go the way we think it should. What we really need to think about is will what i am about to say help or hinder the spiritual growth of a brother or sister in Christ, will it be a good example for my neighbor or will it help spread the common ignorance and hate that is so prevalent in our society today.
I guess this is an indictment against myself. What i say in public, private or what i think is going to affect my relationship with the other person involved either positively or negatively. This might be only for a few minutes but it will still affect it. I challenge you and myself to not get upset but to be proactive instead or reactive in all situations and see if it changes the outlook on your day.
GOD bless ya Chris
