End times began the moment the Lord Ascended to Heaven my brother. The signs are all around us.

The final generation will be the one that witnesses the blossoming of the "fig tree."

Hosea 9:10

Israel returned as a nation in 1948 fulfilling God"s promise to Abraham. Israel is always referred to as the "fig tree" and Christ taught that Israel"s forefathers were the first fruits in his fig tree.

There will be wars and rumors of wars.

Mark 13:7

The last 100 years have seen more wars than any time since creation

An army called "the Kings of the East" will march into the Middle East at the battle of Armageddon and have the Euphrates river dry-up before them.

Rev. 16:12

Dams built in the 1970"s have given Turkey the ability to dry-up the Euphrates. In 1990 they stopped the river for a month to fill a reservoir. Now you can see why Turkey must be part of the Islamic camp....to make way for the three different attack routes the Russians and Arabs will utilize in their Magog attack on Israel.

There will be Earthquakes in diverse places.

Matthew 24:7

Earthquakes have increased in frequency and intensity some 2,000% since Israel returned to the land in 1948.

the generation alive at the time Israel returns to the land will not all pass away before all things, including the return of Christ with his saints, are accomplished.

Luke 21:29-32

Pending. Depending upon the scripture reference a Biblical generation may be anywhere from 40-70 years. We are more than 50 years into that time frame.

There are of course many other signs, but too many to share. We must trust in Jesus

I guess my point to this post was that, at least to my initial readings of Revelation, that it was going to be another RELIGION or a false RELIGION that people would turn to and worship, but it just keeps sticking in my head that the increase in atheism in the world points to a worship of all that is against Christ - or ANTI-Christ.

I have done a study of "Revelation" which is a huge blessing to me. Different to the "Eschatology" interperetation. Try this website, I know you will be blessed.

I'd say that the atheists are expressions of the "spirit of the Antichrist but not The Anti-Christ.  Paul mentioned that the spirit was in the world even then.  Anti-Christian does not necessarily mean anti-Christ.  I know a lot of people who are put off by religion but that doesn't make them anti-Christ.

Gene -

I guess that's the crux of my issue with the atheists of today.  It's militant.  It's not just saying "I don't believe in religion" or "I don't believe in God" - it's "There IS no God, and if you believe in God, you're a fool, and if you believe in Christ as savior you're evil and are to blame for all that is wrong in the world".

Almost as if the "belief system of an atheist" is the false 'religion' that many are falling to.

Well, it's a militant attitude on both sides that becomes the problem, I suppose.  We have to express the love of Christ if we're truly following Jesus.  They don't.

Belief in nothing is nihilism.
Agnosticism is a belief that there may be God but you can't prove it.
Atheism is a outward rejection of anything associated with God or religion of any kind.

All can be militant - even "Christian soldiers."

I agree that anyone can fall into the 'militant' mindset...and there are people like the "Westboro Baptists" are a definite aspect of that.  But you're right...there's a lot of people that become militant and aren't talking about Christ even though they wear a 'christian' uniform.

And the definition of atheism for many of the atheists you see and hear nowadays really is moving from just a rejection of a "God" or "religion" to being focused on a hate of Christianity, even moreso that Islam or other religions.  That's what rattles me.

Thanks for continuing to discuss!
