This past Friday my wife and several of our friends attended a marriage seminar in Panama City Beach, FL. We live in Millport, Al and traveled through Enterprise, AL. This is where the tornado devestated the school. Please, remember that I teach High School History at a Christian School in Columbus, MS. We watched the weather all day that Thursday wondering if we should be sending our students, our kids home. Many parents came and picked up their children that day before the bad part of the stroms hit here. From everything I have read, seen, heard the administration of that school did everything they could to protect those children. My heart breaks for the guilt some of these folks must feel. Parents who wondered if they had picked their children up.... Administrators who wondered if they had just canceled school... As we passed through Enterprise, I couldn't help but cry. I thought to myself, "Someone woke up this morning and didn't have their baby to hug as they dropped them off at school." Someone's family is short a member this AM. I have no doubt that the administration of the School at Enertprise did everything they could to protect those children. Please pray for the families that lost loved ones. Please pray for the folks that have to pick up the pieces, and one day go back in that school. Please pray for the city, that God will continue to comfort them. In the South, we have snow days, but we never have to use them. I wonder when we will begin using these for tornados. We have them far more frequently. The only problem with this is that some of my own students would be at home alone when the weather passed. Lord, help these folks. In Jesus' name, Bro Chris |
