Bill, you have some great thoughts and concerns. I'm sure almost all would agree. So how do we take some practical steps to bring about change? Do we believe establishing another church, program, ministry will solve it? Personally, I think we have too many already. We know all you mentioned above does not please God..in fact it grieves Him deeply. I do believe all the problems in the world can be summed up in this: people don't really know God. When I say this, I don't mean they haven't been "saved." I mean they really don't KNOW Him in an intimate way. I think God has gotten a whole lot of "bad press" through the years. So we have grown up with a lot of hang ups about God and a whole lot of misconceptions. It starts with each of us individually. Not the church, not someone else, but just God and me. The more "I" get to know Him intimately, learn of Him, seek His heart, etc. the more "I" can begin to let God flow out of me toward others. Eventually others will see something different and maybe even want to know more. We may be able to introduce them to God (not just take them to church). Who knows where it can go from there. What do you think Bill? Charlie

Good words Charlie! I believe you are exactly correct. If we ("I") can learn everyday to say these 2 words "Yes LORD!" Things can change. We won't cure the world's woes, the Bible is very clear on this. But we CAN change the world around us. Our Sphere of influence. I am not responsible for God's words, but I am responsible for getting them out there to those around me Or those that might read something I write. I don't take any of that lightly, thats why it is so important, like you say, to have an intimate, hand in hand walk with our Lord. So today & everyday its "Yes Lord" Thanks Charlie

Hi, Mind if I sit for a spell? My wife and I are into Real Estate (she's the Agent, I'm the gopher), and recently we've seen an area North of Denver, with big nice wrap around porches, they seem to be making a comeback (maybe?). What this conveys to me is; maybe people want to get back (a little bit), to those yesteryear days, when family and friends would sit out on their front porches and talk (maybe?). For awhile houses were being built without them, because no one was sitting out there, they were in watching TV, (maybe?). Anyway... my wife and I, are big fans of the Andy Griffith show, and that time and the things they did, out on their front porch, was realistic to us, because we had done it when we were kids. But it was an era that seemed to have gone by the wayside, because of the elimination of porches and the intro of the TV. Oh sure, people still hoop and holler in their backyards, but not much rocking and talking, out on the front porch. So, along with your blog, it has got me to thinking, of how much MyChurch and blogging, is a bit like the front porch. Sort of the modern day front porch; instead of watching TV, we can fellowship like this. One gigantic drawback however is, we can't walk down together and get a soda pop or an ice cream. But the Good News is, some day we will. Robert...

Robert, That my friend was a breath of fresh air!! I hope you see my response, because those are the type of comments I like. Its not that I sit around and talk about the good ole days, ('cause some of them weren't all that good) Its just that I like the idea of slowing down & spending time making friends & enjoying the beauty thats around us. God created us to hang out together with Him & Just like you say Robert, that day is coming. God Bless you sir!!! Bill
