I totally agree with you and this. Amen!  And you are so right: we need to go to church with an attitute of servanthood and "what can I do to be a blessing to someone today?"  I have heard that said many times, and it is so true! And when you are a blessing to others, you too will be blessed, anyways. A spiritual law.

P.S.  Where've ya been?  Facebook?????? lol It's addictive at first. At least it was for me. :P

Dave,

The problem with sticking together is that people in Church are on different levels of their spiritual development.   So for some it may seem tricky to be sticky....  having said that, as long as you commit to sticking together, no matter what... you will become more like Christ... and your spiritual development will excel by leaps and bounds.

God Bless,

Pastor Aminata

I was convicted about this subject matter the other night at a service.  I felt disappointed in the worship; therefore, I was tuning out and not feeling I could really worship freely.  Then on the way home, I had to admit to myself that I  still go to church looking to be fed instead of looking for ways to serve.  I get to church early usually and dawdle around and drink coffee.  Why not use that time to pray for the service, worship team, and pastor?  Then instead of being critical, maybe I can be a little more thankful that I have a place of worship to go to.  God  bless.

This is a great blog with a lot of great comments and insights.  I think it is important to tell our pastor how much we appreciate him and what he does, and ask him if there is anything that he needs help with.  He likely knows of a lot of needs within the church and community.

This is a great blog, with many great comments and insights.  I think making sure we let our preacher know how much we appreciate what he is doing for our church, and ask if there is anything we can do, will show him how much we care.

Pastor Aminata;  Thanks for the input my friend,  I think one thing that came out of the Oxford Group was the principle that helping another to walk in Victory is key to walking in victory ourselves.

Suzanne:  So true...  I'm guilty myself except I play guitar for the worship team.  But I could still use more quality time with the lord in preparation.  After all it only takes so long to tune a guitar.

Paul;  thanks

Deb;  I reckon we need to remember that Ministers are people to.

Dave,
Being a blessing to our Pastor....I would say that one way to do so would be to be involved in the "work of the ministry". Get involved with an area of service in your local church....labor together. My Pastor says "TEAM" Together Each Accomplishes More! I absolutely love my Pastor...he is genuine and sincere.  He love being a pastor and loves the sheep..... many pastors tolerate. His desire is to help each of the sheep fulfill their calling in life. I could go on for ever about my Pastor. We as sheep can't fully comprehend the call of being a Pastor and the level of responsibility and accountability to God.

Robin and I are blessed to attend the same church.  After having been around a little in the body of Christ I am even more appreciative of my present pastor!  We truly have a gift from God in him and his wife.  It is wonderful to be in a church where I am celebrated, not just tolerated.  It is easy for me to serve at my church because of Pastor Jonathan's leadership. It isn't just easy, it is a privilege.  A privilege to serve God by serving my pastor, a privilege to serve God by teaching in Children's Ministry, a privilege to serve God by leading a life group, a privilege to serve God by serving my husband and my children.  It is a privilege to serve God!!
