Just "stumbled" across this in my reading recently.
Constitution of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (1922-1991)
Article 124: In order to ensure to citizens freedom of conscience, the church in the U.S.S.R. is separated from the state, and the school from the church."
Thanks for the comments, guys. As you may have guessed, I was really struck by this. I'm involved in an online class right now with Lance Wallnau, and he observed in one of the articles, with no small chagrin, that the majority of American evangelicals are teaching their children to prepare for evacuation from the world, while followers of other beliefs prepare their children to take nations. And we wonder why things are as they are.
