Hey everyone, I wanted to tell you about a new campaign my ministry is involved in, and I'd love for you all to join me. I don't think anyone of you will disagree with me that our nation has drifted away from God. It appears to me that there is too much "in fighting" in churches today, and as a result, people don't attend any longer. They feel that church is irrelevant. My feeling is that we, as Christians, have turned from doing the very thing God told us to do, as found in Matthew 28:19-20. 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen. The Bible tells us first to "go." We are to go out and tell others about Christ. Too often, the church says "come" when we should actually be "going." What are we supposed to "go" and do? "Teach all nations." We need to go and share the faith we claim to have with a hurting world around us. What are we supposed to teach them? " To obeserve all things whatsooever I have commanded you." We need to teach them the things that Jesus taught us in the Word of God. How can we, as born again Christians, teach them the things Jesus taught us, if we don't know the things Jesus taught us? That is where I feel we dropped the ball. I've seen way too many mega church services on television, and those I've been in, where the message, as found in the Bible, is being twisted around and changed so it doesn't offend anyone. It's called the "seeker sensitive" movement. The church wants to make sure that it doesn't offend anyone, they want everyone to be comfortable in their sins. Jesus said in John 14:15, 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. Again, in verse 21 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Finally, in verse 23
14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
We notice three different verses that Jesus is telling His disciples that if we love Him, we will keep His commandments. Not just some of them, but all of them. He doesn't say to "candy coat" His commandments so that we offend no one. If you truly love God, you'll want to keep His commandments, do His commandments and teach others to keep His commandments.
What does this have to do with me? A question that you may be asking. It has everything to do with you. If you are a Pastor or preacher, you need to be teaching your congregation the commandments of God. If you are a Sunday School teacher or youth Minister, you need to be teaching the commandments of God. If you are a Christian, you need to share the love of God with those around you, and teach those around you the commands of God. If the hurting world is not going to hear the commandments of God from the Christians in America today, where are they going to hear it from? Hollywood? Maybe that is why so many people are turning to the false religions in the world.
How can I help? Begin by joining me in the ScriptureLinks God's Word Project. My goal is to get 100,000 copies of the Gospel of John into the hands of a hurting naiton in 367 days.
