| How did you say "I love you" in your language today? |
|
| |
Since it's Valentine's Day, I thought we'd talk a little love.

Like I mentioned in an earlier blog entry, one of the best books on relationships that I've read is "The Five Love Languages", by Dr. Gary Chapman.
In it, he says we all speak (and hear) love in different "languages":
1) Words of affirmation 2) Gifts 3) Acts of Service 4) Touch 5) Time
(I think I got them all down. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.)
So, with that in mind, I ask you to share with us how you "spoke" love to your spouse, loved one, friend, etc., on this Valentine's Day.
Now, for some, their "speaking engagement" won't be until tonight, so don't share any spoilers (especially if that loved one is on mychurch.org).
So, whenever you're ready....please, by all means, share the wealth. I'm sure we can all learn from one another.

Well, as many of you know, Lili and I will be at this weekend's "A Weekend to Remember" conference (have I mentioned that AT ALL???), so we're really gearing up for that to be our gift to one another.
We generally keep Valentine's Day low key. We focus 364 days of the year (this year 365) to be valentines, and we allow one day for the rest of the world to catch up. Ha!
I haven't gotten flowers yet, today, but I'm still hopeful for a great surprise from my Lili. :)
Actually, the best gift she's given me already is breakfast this AM. She made me breakfast, and we were able to enjoy it together, just the way I like to.
Lili, I love you, hunny. - Gio

Ladies, take some notes, this is how my wife shares her toward me:
Lili wrote (In my profile comments section on mychurch): "You're amazing and my life is so beautiful with you in it. Nothing compares to the love I have with you. You make me smile just thinking about you. I'm so in love with you and just when I think I love you to the max, another day dawns and I love you more than I did yesterday but less than I will tomorrow. You're my bestest friend forever! Love you darling!"
It wasn't even Valentine's Day. Isn't that great???!!!
Happy Valentine's Day to all. - G |

Okay here goes.... To begin I must say that this Valentines was very different for my husband and me. He is Iraq and I'm here in GA. but I believe we completed the 5 love languages, just long distance. Prior to Valentine's I mailed Brad's needed items and I included the "Valentines Family Newsletter" which included pictures, new news, lots of hearts, kisses and hugs via computer art and of course private notes! Today, I received my anticipated call from my darlin. The box and the call included our affirmations, touch (reach out and touch someone) and time. Service was done by my husband's love of our nation and the freedoms we are privledged to have which in turn is service for us. My service is to keep everything at home going smoothly and not complaining about fixing the commode (which I was very proud I accomplished, on my on!) We loved each other completely before but we have learned to appreciate each other even more now. Hope everyone had as beautiful a Valentines as I did! |
