The Holiness Congress will be a wonderful weekend of worship, fellowship, and all around fun! :) One of the top things (other than the Ministry Fair) will be the Commissioning Ceremony. This is the day that the 2nd year cadets officially graduate from the SFOT, and are ready to go out into the world to spread HIS Good News. :) I have been to two of them, and I can truly say that it was a moving experience. :)
Now, on to the Ministry Fair: It will take place on Saturday, June 7th, between 11:30 - 1:30pm (the lunch hour when everyone takes a break). This fair will have booths set up with two laptops, each booth representing a Division, a ministry of The Salvation Army, even local colleges. The ministries represented will be anything from the Sunday School, to Roots, to ARC's, and so much more. :)
What we need from you (if you are attending and we highly suggest that you do - you won't regret it at all), is for you to take care of a booth for those two hours. When I say take care of it, I mean tell people about the ministry that is represented by the booth... we'll assign you to a specific booth. One of the two laptops on the booths (which are really just small tables, no chairs), will have a website to the ministry represented, and the other laptop will have a powerpoint presentation or video, looping. Your part will be showing people how to navigate the website and just answering questions about the ministry.
Basically we just want to show people what they can do in their home corps, communities, and so much more. We want people's eyes to be opened to the possibilities that God has in store for them, and to lead them to a ministry.
Depending on the booth that you are assigned to, you'll get information ahead of time about the subject, so that you will know what to tell people when they ask you questions. :)
So, what do you think? Are you ready to take part in God's plan to bring people to ministry of some sort?
Thank you for your cooperation, I look forward to hearing from you soon. :)
God Bless,
Selena Valdes
