I have to confess. It took me years of my life to understand that “me” is the last element in the equation of life.
Last weekend I was talking to my daughter and she asked: “Is there a secret for life?” WOW! What a question!
Friends, the first time I started thinking about that I was already 28 years old .
It’s a wonderful question for a 5 years old lady, don’t you think? I said, Vanessa life is full of principles, and you will learn them, one at the time”
Vanessa; Can you give an example? Jenily; let’s talk about relationship. The principle for all kind of relationship (with mammy and daddy, when you grow up, at work, at school, with your teacher, friends, etc) is serving others and make then feel glad” When you get marriage your main goal is honor you husband, serve him and make him glad; Vanessa; But, What about me mommy?”
Jenily…Excellent point Vanessa, the key in marriage is that both of you needs to be doing the same, so your husband most be serving you and giving you a joyful life as well.
Vanessa; what about if he doesn’t?
Jenily; that’s an easy one to answer, and a hard one to live by; You must keep doing what you have to do. Serving him, honor him, give him a joyful life.
Vanessa; It doesn’t sound fair mommy?
Jenily; Mamita, the first thing you need to understand is that you can’t find happiness for yourself by yourself…That’s selfishness! When you do what you have to, no matter what’s your opinion about it…you are obeying. And as I told you weeks ago “you always get treats when you obey”.
In other hand, the Bible commands you to love your husband, serve others (it includes your husband) and submit to your husband; So you do not obey the Bible if the circumstance are in your favor, you obey all the time. When you do your part, God is able to work in your favor.
Right now, you only need to “obey mami and papi”. Every time, in any circumstance, you obey mommy and daddy, not because I said so but because the Bible says so. That’s the ultimate word!
Vanessa; So mami that’s the reason why in my last birthday when Marta came over our house, you said “made her feel happy”….But, it was my birthday!!! Do you remember mami?
You gave her my favorite cup, she ate in my favorite plate, she used my nicest princess dress and I was so mad. But I did what you said and then when she was leaving she hugged me and said “Vanessa this is the best day of my life and the best birthday party I ever had” and I felt so good mami! Jenily; Excellent example, let me ask you something; did we have a big party? Do you think that Marta had has bigger B.day parties? Vanessa; Oh no mami! My party was small in comparison with my friend’s party Jenily; but when you give… it makes a difference! It's not about you..others! |

| It's a wonderful lesson to Vanessa (a 5yr old child who needs to get ready for real world). Now, I have a question "What do you tell an adult...that has always thought of "others", served "others", helped "others", loved "others" unconditionally and sacrificed "self" throughout their entire life "including childhood, adoloscence, and now part of adulthood". I already know the answer "You have to keep on doing what you're doing", but isn't it hard to watch others in their adulthood to claim to know the lesson, but always think of "self" and yet receive all the Blessed riches from heaven? What do you say to a loyal Christian then? |

Dear Elizabeth, I’m trying to answer your question without making another blog…hahahahaha (you know I speak a lot) First.- bible says Love God above all things, then love your neighbor as yourself. When you love God, immediately you start obeying His commands. So you serve others in live not according to their performance, but because you feel Glad and happy in doing it because God is honored! Why you should look other? We do not compare ourselves to anybody different than Jesus. You are not trying to be anybody but Jesus. In the road of life you’ll say “I’m happy because I’m making God happy” David said: “No te dare nada que no me cueste”. Romans says “Present your body as a living sacrifice” I said again SACRIFICE, it’s not easy, but then you realize that everything you do is for God …you will feel happy. The big failure of many people in life is that they want to “do good”, serve other, but they haven’t experience an encounter with the love of God… You won’t love the unlovable if you do not love God first. I know many people “prosper” doing their own thing. One day I felt betrayed for somebody and it make me so mad seen how they “prosper”. Until I learned that the Bible commands me to: 1. Do not be envious of those who do wrong; 2. Trust in the LORD and do good; Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. 3. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him 4. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. 5. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil.
For evil men will be cut off; but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land. For the power of the wicked will be broken; but the LORD uphold the righteous. Sometime I wanted to “uphold” myself and do something about…it was because I wasn’t trusting God in that matter...He will upholds me! |
