Keep up the struggle.  Through Christ you can overcome.

Just by admitting your struggle with faith is your first step toward the faith you seek. It's hard being human isn't it? I have faith that you are going to be just fine my friend. You are definatly on the right road.

I was looking things up this morning and I searched for definition and scripture for a couple of words that I try to grow in my life and the lives of my children. The words were Patience, Faith, Wisdom, Righteous, and Integrity. I found the definition of faith to be: reliance, loyalty, or complete trust in God. (the complete trips us all up from time to time)

I think this is a real issue that many Christians of all levels deal with from time to time, it shows maturity that you are seeing the presence, or lack there of, of faith in you life and you are choosing to seek it out. Persevere. (another good word to look up)

I really like the scripture James 1: 6, I hate it when I lack faith and am left feeling like a wave.

At least you are aware of a problem area.  We all have problem areas.  Once we are aware of it we are likely to truly be still and know that HE is God and actively listen for HIS voice as HE guides us through.

I think with stewardship we all need to know when enough is enough.

Yeah, I used to be a scrooge when it came to money (He was one of my favorite characters). I paid tithes, but that was it. I am a good stewart by blessing other people now.
Prayer and intimacy helped me through it.

Dave,

In March, Greg will have been out of job for one year.  It has not been easy, yet we've kept our stewardship up with our church.  You see, we started small when we married and grew it.  It's the first item on the list.  The stuff comes after.  We don't even think about it.  For this year we did not increase because we know that God is going to provide for us.  We may have to pull in our belts more... but God is here with us, and in us.

Persevere brother Dave. It's hard, and the devil will be feeding you lies all along the way. And right about when you feel like you can't hate yourself any more than you do b/c of the repeated failures, then persevere! Because that is probably the point when your breakthrough will come!

God Bless you Dave for sharing so personally.  It's immensely encouraging to me and I know our Father is pleased with the way you honor Him.

Thanks for the input one and all.  I think it's important with Tithes to remember the Holy to the Lord part.  Leaning when there's income to think of it as the Lord's he gets his 10% off the bat.  I say that Like I know what I'm talking about right.

Thanks Victorious,  At our Not so Small Vigo County Library I cant find any biographys on John G. Lake.  Or even Dwight L. Moody for that matter.  but under the heading of diversity plenty of stuff for Margarette Sanger.

When  God  give  us  inspiration  we  must  act  like  there  is  no  God.  Once  we  arise  and  obey  immediately  we  find  He  is  there.  We  will  be  divinely  transformed.

What  do  waiters  do  when you  go  to  a  restaurant  serve  you?
Are  we  not  God's  waiters?

6:30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O men of little faith? 6:31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 6:32 For the Gentiles seek all these things; and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well.

Many  of  us  refuse  to  grow  where  God  plants  us.   Therefore  ,  we  don't  take  root.
We  have  to  continually  separate  ourselves  and  look  to  God  every  day  of  our  lives.

The  real  test  of  spiritual  focus  is  being  able  to  bring  our  thoughts  and  imagination  under  control.

If  our  focus  is  on  the  face  of  idols  like  ourslves, work,  or  what  a  servant  should  be,  or  maybe  our  experience  of  salvation  and  santification,  then  our  ability  to  see  God  is  blinded.

We  have  to  look  beyond  our  own  experiences.  Focus  on  God.

55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah. 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

The  power  of  imagination  is  what  God  gives  saints  so  that  he  can  go  beyond  himself  and  be  firmly  placed  into  relationships  he  never  before  experienced.

2:19 So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 2:20 built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 2:21 in whom the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; 2:22 in whom you also are built into it for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
