It's Biblical To Get High On Brain Made Drugs!
|

12:2 And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, and ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Your brain is not just a thinking organ, it is also a gland and it produces its own drugs. They are called BMDs (no not BMWs). BMDs are "brain made drugs." There are two basic types of BMDs--endorphins and anxiety producers. These are powerful drugs. Paul Pearsall Ph.D., author of the book Super Joy, says endorphins are more than 200 times powerful than morphine. (Now that's a high.)
Thoughts are the trigger of your brain's drug production. When you think a thought your brain produces tiny amounts of BMDs. The more powerful and believable the thought, the greater the amount of BMDs.
Negative thoughts trigger the release of anxiety producers which help produce worry, fear, frustration and other negative emotions. Positive thoughts trigger endorphins which help produce joy, contentment, peace, and other positive emotions.
4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Most of us allow the vast majority of our thinking to be habitual. Thus we are producing BMDs without even being aware of what we are doing. If you are discouraged and blue much of the time, your habitual thinking has much to do with that.
If you want to feel better you can. By changing your habitual thinking you can change the chemical make-up of your mind. Now this is not easy and it does take time and persistence. Few people are willing to make the effort to change their thinking. They would rather just continue in their less than optimal emotional state.
But now you know that you don't have to settle for that option. You can feel good and love life and smile and laugh and be happy. It is hard work, but you can do it. Actually begin to daily obey and practice the two Bible verses posted here. Soon you will begin to feel great.
Well, just writing about this has me feeling good. The endorphins are flowing. Whew! It's going to be a good day for me. Now make yourself think good thoughts and shut up the bad thoughts and you, too, can make it a good day.

That's right, Lara. So much of life is about our mind. As Christians, sometimes we tend to overlook that.

Isn't our God Amazing? We are so complex , such a miracle in itself how He made us. Thanks for sharing what we all should know, so many ways our Lord equiped us. He is the greatest cardiologist I have ever worked for!
