| A Knock at the Door |

Today as my children and I were relearning the message from the movie Facing the Giants the doorbell rang. My son answered the door only to see a crying little boy. Alarmed to hear someone crying downstairs I quickly flew down the stairs and knelt down and looked into the little boys face to determine the situation. The boy was lost. I asked him his age and name. He said he was three and that he was looking for his mother and father.
I quickly donned my coat and together we left the house to locate his parents. I had never seen this little one nor did I know where he actually lived so I asked many questions. I also tried to assure him that we would locate his mom and dad as I held his little hand in mine. After a short walk he pointed to his house and I could hear his name being shouted. A frantic mother looked over the fence at her little boy. Upon spotting him, she quickly ran to the gate and into the arms of her little one.
She hugged me and profusely thanked me for bringing her boy home. I told the mother that he was looking for his dad. You see, his Dad is in Iraq. This little four year old boy wanted his daddy. War is not a concept one so small could grasp. He didn't even know how old he was, how could he know the concept of his daddy being far away in another land protecting him from the face of another enemy?
This is a giant for a little four year old to face. We may all face giants in our lives but nothing is too big for God. He will help the little one to get through his daddy's deployment and He will help you too. God bless you as you face your giants little David!
