6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye present yourselves `as' servants unto obedience, his servants ye are whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
When you say, "God's wiser," you've said it all! Of course just to say it in words alone, doesn't really mean much. Most people are willing to repeat the words, "God's wiser." Everybody now, as you read this, say these words out loud -- 1,2,3, say, "God's wiser." Did you do it? That's good. But saying the words does not mean you really believe it.
Here is where the rubber meets the road. The next time you want to do one thing and God wants you to do another, actually do what God wants you to. Go against your own desires and obey God. That proves, at least for that moment, you really do believe God is wiser.
It is very important to actually live the truth that says: "God's wiser." And we need to avoid the idea of "God lite." The "God lite" idea says that we can have a little of God in our life and we will be alright. "God lite" is a religious way of presenting God that requires no obedience or commitment on our part. We just show up for a religious meeting every now-and-then and give a little money and live like we want to -- that's "God lite" -- also known as cheap grace.
Which do you prefer -- "God's wiser" or "God Lite"? |
