I am in agreement with you Silva, on this.  We are still in our infancy in using MyCorps, so it will be interesting to see who and how often it is used by members of our corps.  I'll keep you informed, as time progresses.

The article provides a great rationale for being involved in MYCORPS.ORG. I want to challenge all who are on the Atlanta Temple network to encourage your friends (whether they are a part of Temple or not) to sign up and be a part of the ongoing conversation. THANKS!

Eli:  I am embarrassed.  I have read a couple of books by an evangelist from Argentina whose name is Ed Silvoso (or something close to it.)  Somehow my brain has confused you with him and now for the second time I have called you Ed.  I am very sorry.  Please forgive me.

I agree with you.  I belong to one other web site (secular) and I have consistently been "on board" for almost five years.  I have seen so many come and go after just several months and on a rare occasion some stay for at least a year or so.
I realy like this My Church .... it gives me a chance to reconnect with old friends but make new ones as well.

I think that this article is very interesting. I would like to add another point to this, from personal experience. I think that the most attractive thing to me with MrCorps.org and Facebook is the uniformity of the site and each persons profile. Although the content obviously differs from person to person, the layout and actual information sections are all the same making it extremely easy to find exactly what you are looking for and to communicate within the site. This, I think, makes it far more appealing to the average user. Even if you don;t log on for a few days, you know that when you come back nothing will have changed (as far as functionality etc) making it feel like you never left and - therefore - making sure that you always return!  Being on the younger side of the referenced article's age group, I have experimented with several of the big networking sites. I was never extremely happy with any of them until I found Facebook. Now MrCorps.org seems to be better still - providing me with security and confidence of knowing who can access my information and that the people within the network (for the most part) share the same beliefs, values and CHURCH as me. Wow, I have talked a lot. I hope this was all clear! I LOVE MyCorps.org and hope that soon we will be into the 1000s of members!!

This is interesting. Honest to God, I never knew what the Salvation Army was about, until this blog explained a little more. I only knew about them from their thrift stores, and from the bell ringers at Christmas. Thanks for sharing.
