Whose in charge?  Thanks, Steve, even a Christian like me needs to know.  As a matter of fact I've been trying to get better organized into this great enterprise I call "myself".  I figured a "mind, body, soul" outlook would be a good formula.

For the mind, I'll do some reading, crossword puzzles, and maybe write a bit.  For the body, I'll do what all the professionals suggest and start an exercise program.  For the soul, I'll spend more time with the CEO by meditating, worship and service.  My problem is motivation and discipline.  Now...where do I go for that?

Great comment, Ed!  I give it a "comment star"!

Motivation is more caught than taught.  We get it by exposing ourselves to motivated people.  Find the most fired up Christians in your town and hang around them as much as possible.  Read the book of Acts over and over and over.  (Acts fires me up!)

As for disciple, set tiny, reachable goals.  An example:  read the New Testament at least 5 minutes every day and never miss a day for 21 days.  I challenge men in the rehab where I work to do that one.  And it works for many guys.  After a few days of reading a mere 5 minutes they begin to actually get interested in the Word and begin to read much more out of interest rather than out of forced discipline.

Kurios = CEO.  Very good.  We shouldn't lord it over like the gentiles, but the greatest should be the least.  Like John the Baptist said:  "I must decrease and He must increase."  Thanks for making me think, apodemeo.

Amen, apodemeo, God owns the whole works.

Steve, your blog reminds me of the old bumper sticker "God is my co-pilot" - which is sorta backwards since God should be the pilot and I should be the co-pilot.  It's His show and His ride.  I'm happy to be along on it.

I agree, Gene.
