| The Lordship of Jesus Christ |

| I believe the only way to achieve your full potential is to surrender your will and your life to One who is bigger and greater than yourself-Jesus Christ.
An example of this is the apostle Paul, who, before his conversion, was known as Saul. Saul persecuted the Christians and even held the coats of those who stoned Stephen to death (Acts 7:58). After the stoning, Saul got permission from the Jewish authorities to go to Damascus to hunt down followers of Christ and take them to prison.
But an unusual thing happened on the road to Damascus. Saul was knocked down by a bright light, and a voice from heaven asked, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" The light blinded him, and knowing that something supernatural had knocked him to the ground, Saul called out, "Who are You, Lord?" The voice said, "I am Jesus, the One you are persecuting." Trembling, Saul asked, "Lord, what do You want me to do?" And the Lord told him to go to a man named Ananias. Saul, now blind, was led by his hand to Damascus (vv. 4-9).
When Saul arrived, Ananias hugged and prayed for him, and immediately Saul's eyes were healed (vv. 17-18). He was converted, began to preach, changed his name to Paul, and spent his life establishing churches and conquering Rome by writing letters from jail cells.
The man named Saul could never have accomplished all that. But the man named Paul, by submitting his life to Jesus' authority, became the great apostle who spread the Gospel throughout the world. In the same way, it is through the lordship of Jesus Christ that our lives can be changed and we can be all that God wants us to be. |
| My Declaration of Faith for Today | | As I daily surrender my will to the lordship of Christ, I can become all that He wants me to be. |
