I just happened to catch an ad for my Toastmaster's Club out of the corner of my eye. It reads thus: Been Curious About Toastmasters? Now is your opportunity to satisfy that curiosity. See how we learn to express ideas, become confident. Good leaders are good communicators; you'll find out how to vary your approach to suit the needs of different people, be they an audience for a speech or the committee for a fundraiser. By improving your ability to lead, your goals in life can be realized. Need more information? Call Marion 339-5432 or Harry 338-7166. Remember: "Your potential is limited only by how many excuses you have." I can vouch for the positive aspects of attending Toastmasters. You meet new folks from any number of different backgrounds. You learn communication skills and gain confidence. Apparently public speaking is STILL the most terrifying event that many people face, even more frightening than death for them. I know that butterflies vied for space in my tummy the first few times I attended. I encourage you to check out Toastmasters in your community. |
