| Morning walk on the beach with Bay |
|
| |
Bay and I spent a few hours on the beach this morning. Nobody else was there. The Chesapeake Bay was calm. The water looked like glass. No waves. It was foggy. Cold. Damp. No wind. Everything was wet and muddy from the storms of the past week. There were a lot of birds on the water. I am not sure what kind they are. They are mostly white with black wings and a black ring around their necks. They fly like ducks, but I have never seen a duck with that color. When Bay would do a retrieve, they would fly low over him. I could hear their wings moving through the air it was so quiet.
I had actually woken at 5:00 this morning. I didn't fight it. God immediately put people on my heart to pray for. I started going through the list while in bed, as I was getting dressed, and I started through it again at the beach. Bay was very good today. He obeyed all my commands, was patient, and always had his head in the game. We have been working on delayed retrieves where I make him sit, throw the toy out in the water, then tell him to Go! He did ten of those today with perfection. He was worn out. We went for a short hike after we were done with the retrieves.
The song going through my head when I arrived at the beach was Delta Dawn thanks to Soozanne. (Click here for her crazy blog!) However, during our hike I started singing the Newsboys - I am Free. Nobody else in the woods so I started singing loudly. How can one not sing that song loudly? Who the Son sets free is free indeed.
53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 53:5 But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
I returned home only to find that Tina has posted that very song. I am not going to post it again. I want you to listen to it go to her blog, and give her a star (click here). I think we both heard from the Lord this morning - a celebration of freedom.
Bay thinks it is strange when I sing out loud - very loud! He will sit and look at me. Then he starts this half-howl-half-bark noise. I find it funny that he seems to want to join in with me.
Today during my time with God I reflected on the richness of today, what He has done for me and the ones I love, and how so very grateful I am. Today is a good day. We will rejoice and be glad in it. A man, his dog, and his God. |

I haven't heard Delta Dawn in years.........funny. I long for slower times when I can just walk and talk with God instead of driving to work and talking with Him. The sun rise here in TX this morning was awesome and I am thankful that God shared it with me as I journeyed to work.
Have a Blessed weekend! |

| Prophet, sometimes the water is low and I do wade out quite a ways into it. Otherwise, I can't throw far enough to get into the deeper water where Bay has to swim. |

| What a wonderful story. I wish I had the water to walk to for quiet times with God. |
