Because of all the snow we have gotten recently my family started getting-cabin-fever, so my mother suggested we put our pictures in albums, we all complained, eventually she won. We drug the boxes out of the attic and basement and started looking through them, it was a walk down memory lane.
My family and I went through them fingering each one delicately while our minds raced back to better or worse times in our life. We have pictures of everything, Disney World, the ocean, the Zoo, birthdays, Christmas's, births, marriages, the building of our home, pictures of family, pictures of people who have passed on, vacations, and of all of our pets. Each picture we looked at opened a new conversation where we reminisced and laughed and cried.
As I looked at the pictures of those who passed on crying over their dear faces, I thought of Heaven and of the great reunion. I cannot wait till I see all those dear people again. Looking at the pictures of places we have gone to I realize how very much I have been blessed and loved. Pictures of family bring memories both good and bad. So many happy times in my life, and so many dark times. We look at the happy pictures and try to push away the bad, but this time I looked at the bad too and I was reminded of Gods hand in every situation in our life, He was always there.
Pictures are a wonderful way to see all that God has done in your life and see what he has brought you through. Looking through pictures is also a very good family moment you'll find yourself poring over old albums laughing until you hurt or crying until you no longer can. Take a weekend to take down the old album or shoe-box and look through them with your family, you'll be glad you did.
