Looking at my own heart, I'm glad God brings people to Himself.  If He had to rely on me I don't think anyone would be saved.

So the girl w/blue eyes was not going to heaven? And in the book in her heart were more who weren't going to heaven? I guess her heart was musty b/c Jesus didn't live there? Why was the book there? And the cushions? I don't understand, and I want to Cheryl!

I guess the moral is we all get so easily sidetracked by unimportant selfish issues that we overlook the unsaved? Lord help us!

Amen guys!

Mike, I guess the book was there due to many from the world still searching for our Jesus and what are they finding when they do, what decision do they make as a result..does their 'name/life/decision' go in the book.  Maybe like 'Our' book of Slavation~Lambs Book of Life vs. non-life, spiritually speaking and eternal damnation.

As of the first part of your story, she was in a room where she didn't belong.  Quoting what you said it was "damp and musky, an ere of pungent odors loomed about" where it was full of windows, but nobody could see.  That is a picture of a lot of people wouldn't you say?

gone:  welcome, yes, before Jesus wooed us unto Himself, we were in that room.

{Not personally directed to you :)}
Now are the windows getting cleaner...can our light shine throught the room.  Does the light we shine..lead others to or away from Jesus??

I think, even as believers, we all have rooms in our heart we haven't let Jesus clean yet.

I think some division is even healthy (I think separate bathrooms for different genders are a good thing).  I guess the real problem is a divisive attitude.

I really enjoyed the imagery in your story.  Good blog, my friend!!

You guys are great!!!  How funny~  Yes, the only division {to clarify} is the ones listed in the story that lead others away from Jesus from a non-christian perspective.  Would you seek Jesus if the christian was not different from the world??  We are all growing and changing, we are we at in that?  You two know it is only by grace that I am here...so I am not judging nor condemning {that's not my place, Jesus did not come to condemn the world but to save it}  but,  just wondering...are we concerned with others in OUR actions?

Hello Cheryl, Good to make you acquaitance.  My name is Larry, sometimes I catch myself wondering deep in subject matters such as this.  I find this one, somehow very intrigueing.  Could the museum in her heart be a picture of her life?  With history of her past life hanging on the walls?  How about the doors that showed oppurtunnities of wisdom, could this have a time in her life when the holy spirit sent someone her way speaking the Word of Truth.  Still yet not finding her way.  Finally the last door where the most wisdom awaits with where there are windows that you cannot see thru allowing only darkness with the characteristics of it as well.  The damp and musty room with pungent odors.  The cushion in the dark corner where all she can do is sit and  see  the names of all those who shared the same fate, maybe.  Did the names in the book make you angry?  Why? Did you happen to know some of these people, friends, relatives maybe.  People that you might of had an oppurtunnity to minister too.  I Don't really know.  But I do know one things for sure.  God has a plan for each and everyone of us, and that we are not going up against and advesary we can physically see, but a battle in the spiritual realm.  And its ok to get angry and sin not.  It is those who are unfortunate that cannot see the real battle we are all in, that corrupt the Word of life that the good Lord gave us sometime back.  It sometimes seems like a struggle just to maintain our very own christianity.  Anyway, regardless of what the world throws our way, we are to be the shining light, and live daily to try to go forward with the Great commision that the Lord has placed in our hearts.  So when the time comes we can make a difference,Thru Christ, which road people make take, and hopefully avoid the book of which you speak of.  We have good days and bad days, but scripture, say not by power not by might but by My Spirit sayeth the Lord.  Stronger is he that is in me that than he that is in the world. Whoops,  I did it again, I let my mind wonder off and started praching to myself again, sorry.  Hope I didn't say anything to offend U.   I think I just get where your coming from.  God bless U and your Family.

Larry, what a blessing~  These aren't ppl in my present family but ppl possibly on MyChurch and in our churches we worship at.  Yes, my heart breaks, i have been in ministry for 23 years and have seen the losses.  Losses, some due to others actions.  May Jesus reach them another way, I pray he gets their attention.  Jesus wept is my favorite verse, may we also for the lost....

Amen to that Cheryl,  if we could all understand why he wept, I imagine we would be more compassionate towards one another instead of allowing selfishness get in the way. God Bless!

This is what happens when you must be away for several hours..... a blog with many many comments.  I was reading them to try and not repeat but there are so many!
There are many things within our churches that we should improve upon but the truth is we are human and I don't believe we will get it 100% right until Jesus returns.  That being said I will tread on dangerous ground,  I believe that the Holy Spirit is more powerful than any attitude, judgement or down right rudeness that a church could possibly do.  I say this because the things you talked about in the story I witnessed in several churches before deciding I DON'T NEED THIS!  The Holy Spirt is stronger!!  I know that people were praying for me even though they didn't dare tell me!  God heard these prayers but God also knew me and His Holy Spirit came to me in a parking lot.  No falling out, screaming, crying just the sweet sweet peace, comfort and love that only Jesus can give and my sins were confessed and forgiven.  I now attend my church regularly, is it perfect no, do I see injustices, yes.  Will I leave No... God has me there to make a difference in someone's life. That is all we can do strive to make a difference and let His Spirit shine through us so that the negative light fades.  Sorry too long... Please forgive my friend.

CherylfromGa, hey there!  Glad to see you!  I agree completely.  I have been in church all my life and seen it all.  I posted this out of a prompting in my heart {maybe a theme, I saw Lara post and Deb post simular topics}.  If our eyes can be opened to maybe one more thing God wants us to get rid of in our life..then I count it all joy.  Love ya~

Answer to your question in response to your response about "shining through" to other people. Think of it this way. If you (not you personally) was the only church in the world, and I was the only sinner in the world, would I rather remain a sinner than go to church?  What are people reflecting that puts other people off?

Great, challenging blog! I hope that this will not only be a blog & comments, but that we will be challenged to go out there and get people in the Kingdom of God. I believe that the saying of Evangelist Reinhard Bonker is relavent to us. He always says "We must plunder hell & populate heaven.
Thabks for the encouragement!

Cheryl from Ga, really impressed w/your comment! Truth is, we are called to bear with one another! Paul wouldn't have issued that command (under the inspiration of God) if we all became really nice people the moment we trusted Jesus for our salvation. We're a bunch of stinkers!!! Fighting day in and day out to let go and let God! Man is it hard. A perfect church????? Heck, I'd settle for one where the distractions FROM God are minimal! lol

Oh Lordy, Cheryl can you tell Cheryl got me started???

(btw, again - good blog!)

Mike, Mike, Mike..(just kidding)  you are right!  I have been in church all my life and seen it all.  I posted this out of a prompting in my heart {maybe a theme, I saw Lara post and Deb post simular topics}.  If our eyes can be opened to maybe one more thing God wants us to get rid of in our life..then I count it all joy. NONE is perfect and there will never be a "perfect Christian" nor anywhere close, but as a church, may we remove the scales from our eyes and not stay in our comfort-zones.  I guess it's like the first time you go to choir, or sing a solo, or tell someone about Jesus; that first step is not necessarily easy even though one knows they need to do it!   Love ya~

Cheryl, I really just want to thank you for bearing with me. I know I'm difficult to live with, even as an online buddy! (Just think what I put poor Laura through!) But you're really good at seeing the Christ in believers, even when we make it difficult to see him in us! Sorry Cheryl, Cheryl's comment got me going, in a good way though. Cheryl's insights are always a pleasure to read, don't you think, Cheryl?

Why?  Because he beckons through all the filth... He tell us that there is more; so much more in store for us, and that it is better!

We can bear all things through Him who strengthens us!
