My last blog, "Freedom From the Bondage of Pornography", encouraged me to think about previous judgements of people and end times prophecy. I think the moral decay, including the rampant pornography (men, women, and CHILDREN exposed to it and USED in it) and the acceptance of it and other things, clearly spoken against in Scripture, points to a downward spiral of humans and is an indicator of end times and judgement getting closer.
Yes, I know this has been said all our lives. I usually like to be positive, but sometimes everything we need to say is not always pleasant to think about, talk about, nor is it always welcome by others.

I'm doing this blog to share some of my thoughts on end times, please feel free to share your thoughts about this in a blog comment. Things do seem to be speeding up!
7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. I had a request (Arlene) for me to write a blog about Revelation and end times.
I do not claim to be an expert about anything, much less prophecy.
I may add more as time goes on but for now, I want to write what I feel I am supposed to write about. I realize that this is not going into the depth of Revelation, but at least it's a beginning. 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually. Sodom and Gomorrah was judged because of sexual sin, homosexual lifestyles. We all know the story about Lot's wife and the pillar of salt. I am including below, the verses that talk about homosexual lifestyle there. 19:5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where [are] the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. 19:6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, 19:7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. 19:8 Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as [is] good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. 19:9 And they said, Stand back. And they said [again], This one [fellow] came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, [even] Lot, and came near to break the door. 19:10 But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. 19:11 And they smote the men that [were] at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door. Noah's generation was judged because of the thought of their heart was on evil continually.
Israel was judged and sent into Babylonian captivity because of their godless lifestyle.
He will judge ALL nations, some will be destroyed as were
Sodom and Gomorrah, before the end times.
Yes, HE will judge nations, including America,
(perhaps before Revelation prophecy for the last days)
for murder of unborn children, homosexuality, pornography (accepted under the freedom of expression label).
It is freedom of expression until you speak of God and the things pertaining to the Savior. That is not POLITICALLY CORRECT. You just might hurt someones feelings! We are labeled as a "right-wing", Bible believing radical, that must be shut up. Thursday, February 21, 2008, From FoxNews: A California man is battling a rare and usually fatal parasite caused by a brain-eating amoeba found in soil, the Press Enterprise reports. Matt Moore, a fire captain in Murrieta, Calif., became seriously ill in November and doctors were initially baffled as to what was causing his sickness, according to the report. Moore, 43, is on life-support in a critical-care unit in San Diego.
Thursday, February 21, 2008, From FoxNews: A strong earthquake shook rural northeastern Nevada Thursday, damaging a town's historic district but sparing residents from any serious injuries.
I'm not even including the wars and rumours of wars and all of the other things listed in the Scripture below. I do think we can agree there is a lot going on, at a faster pace than ever before, and it's all in the Bible!
24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 24:8 All these [are] the beginning of sorrows. 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Can you believe the Bible? I think you absolutely can! The Bible when written, was 25% prophecy. Most have already been fulfilled. 1:19We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Even the Savior mentions Daniel. See scripture references below: 24:15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 13:14But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: I also HEARD on FoxNews, today, February 25, about the rising cost of grocery items. They specifically named bread and milk in the story on high prices of grocery items. They spoke today about the recalled beef and all the problems with that and recalled the mad cow disease that we have to worry about these days.
The story about the bread (and other grocery items) reminded me of a verse in Revelation.
This happens when the THIRD SEAL was opened. I'm not saying the seal has been opened, but the news of today really made me think of the third seal and end times. I once heard it taught that the loaf of wheat bread (measure of wheat) or three loaves of barley for a day's pay. Increasing prices also would encourage us to not WASTE the olive oil (or gas, non food item), MILK (have you checked the price) or any thing! But, we are getting very close to the end times! Think of the meat supply problem, along with the high cost of food, the droughts we already have, even in the United States, and I can certainly see how the black horse (deep mourning) of famine fits and the last days seem very close, indeed. What do you think? 6:5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and [see] thou hurt not the oil and the wine. It just worries me that America, as blessed as we are, seem to be "falling away". The previous nations that lost sight of God and did not turn from their ways, were destroyed.
I can remember when bread was 5 loaves for a dollar! I also remember when gas was 25 cents a gallon. We can expect prices to go up, but it all seems to be really speeding up! It did not seem bread would ever be a problem as the Bible said, but now--it's really makes sense that it can and will happen.

I know there is much more in Revelation, but I thought this could be a beginning.
The news this morning had several things in it that just made me think--well, this does remind me of Revelation!
You had mentioned your interest in this very important book in the Bible--so that was another little bit of encouragement to write a little on this today.
I do hope that people will open up and share their thoughts on current events and the relation to end times as well as the general topic of prophecy. I realize people can be reluctant to open up on these topics. I am not trying to argue with anyone or anything like that. But, fellowship and sharing can profit us as fellow believers, one to another.

| Excellent blog! I would agree, that there are more and more signs of the end times every day...People have thought through the years that the end would come in their lifetime...it still hasn't, but it will. But the bible tells us no one but the Father knows when. No one can know for sure. But the signs are there. Our sense of time is not the same as God's...it could happen tomorrow...it could be another 50, 100 or more years. But we should be ready for anything! |

Yes, the end days have been thought near for all time, but even with the increasing signs, He will come "As a thief in the night" for those not expecting HIM. As in the days of Noah, they were eating, drinking, and marrying (seems to be less marrying now) when the destruction came. They had the thought that it couldn't anything happen THEN, but it did. They were warned. It took Noah awhile to build the ark and gather the animals--so, since it didn't happen the moment he first warned the people, they thought he was crazy.
Even if the Savior has not returned, death brings it's own kind of "end time", too.

Grandmama, Thank you for reading my blog. Revelation is a long book with much that can be discussed. Scholars disagree, even today, about things that are in it. I certainly do not understand everything in it, but I KNOW the things spoken of in this blog were judged. Since He is the same yesterday, today, and forever--I do not think He likes any better today than in ancient times.

Thank you for a great blog. Taking the current events and comparing them with end-time prophecy and seeing the connections should really be a positive indicator of how we should be living our lives today. Christians, followers of Christ, really should be very sensitive and in tune to these happenings because they are very important in our mission and how we minister to each other as well as none believers.

Yes, I would think the people would rather think positive rather than see the reality.
Also, I suspect those that were wanting access to the angels also said "you only live once, so enjoy!" or "everybody's doing it" or "if it feels good, do it" or "all that doesn't matter these days" or "they are just religious fanatics". I could go on, but I know you already know what I mean. Saying the same stuff today!

Yes, the "birth pangs" of the end times are getting closer together, just as in the case of a human birth process and the signs that the delivery is imminent.
Even though it may not be TODAY, we should live as if the end times of Revelation are today or tomorrow! We are certainly closer today than we were yesterday.

I do think the Old Testament is often discounted and considered to be useless by some. It's amazing how a lot of the Old Testament and New Testament compliment each other. It's simply amazing what one can learn from the Old Testament. It's also amazing how much the Savior followed the Old Testament (Torah) and HE WAS the one who could have discounted it first--if indeed it was no longer "anything to it". HE kept the Jewish sabbath, HE kept the feast, etc. We say WWJD, well, what DID HE DO?

| I do agree that the set up for Rev is happening. Many places in the Bible says that WE as followers of Christ will not be surprised by it. If we walk in the Spirit we will know what is going on and that the time is near. Rev 5:13 says that every creature will cry out before the seals are opened. We may not hear it with our physical ears (but we could) we will hear it in our Spirit. |

This, of course, is a blog well taking time for all to read. You are more than correct (if that's possible) in the knowledge of the "end times" getting closer and much closer. You do not have to be an expert to understand this. Common sense is enough.
To clear a couple things I believe very important to gain further knowledge of what is going on from the "true" experts on our time. I believe you will be happy to have this said: A man by the name of "Ginsburg" some many years ago discovered the the point at which it is said, When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (who so readith, let him understand:) Mathew 24:15 Because of of many problems with the fact there are no vowels in the original Hebrew (palian Hebrew) the word should have been the "desolator" In other words, the evil one. The antichrist pretending to be our Lord and looking very much like people think our Lord looks like. He will be taking the place of our Lord is what it is intended to mean. This is an important warning to us not to be fooled by the antichrist. Although he will have the power to shoot lightning out of his fingers etc. If we are in the flesh at that time (and we will) we are to know it is not the Savior. As we will only be able to see him in the spirit. The same for Mark 13:14
It is said that it will cost a days pay for a loaf of bread in the "end times" It may certainly be so in a short while. This was all written for this generation. It is we he is speaking to.
Though no one has any idea when the time will be except the Father. Our Lord has said he will come as a thief in the night. To show us he will be when most will not understand. However, the time for the antichrist has been shortened to five months from seven years for the elects sake. Once the witnesses said as the two olive trees and two candle sticks in Rev ll:4-9 their bodies will lie for the days in the streets and Christ WILL come then with vengeance. This is the seventh trump, when he will appear. In an instant we will all be transformed into our spritual bodies. In other words dead, as most think of it.
