| I'm going on a bit of an adventure for 6 days...I'm a part time "nanny" of a 5 month old & I've been invited to go with him and his family on a ski vacation!(I won't be skiing, just watching the baby). This means I'll be leaving my two teenage kids to "fend for themselves" while I'm gone.(their dad will be home). By fending for themselves, I mean getting themselves up for school, making sure their lunches are packed and feeding themselves dinner!! ( Of course, grandma will make sure they eat something good at least one night!) I must admit, I have spoiled my children. But I don't always think of it as spoiling. It's been my JOB as a full-time, SAH(stay-at-home)mom to take care of my family and I enjoy doing it! My daughter who is 18 and graduating this yr. has expressed to us how she wants to be "on her own". Well, she's going to get a little taste of that this week & I have to grin when she keeps asking me "what about this....what about that....how do I do this"....etc...I think they'll both be surprised at how much they can do on their own. Wow, it would be neat if they realize just how much mom does for them...hmmm..we'll see :) |
