Only 60?

Thanks for the link. I read the obit. Fortunately, we know he's feeling no pain now.

Glenn...I'm sort of in shock. I had no idea Larry was dead. Actually, I really had no idea he was still alive. I've heard so little of him the last 10 years or so. Gotta say, he had a significant impact on my music tastes as well. One of the first Christian rock albums I ever listened to was Only Visiting This Planet. I also loved Randy Stonehill's early music on Solid Rock records - Stonehill of course becoming a Christian as a result of Norman's witnessing effort.

An era has ended, but I won't forget Larry. Thanks a million for this post. Very cool!

Ya, both Larry and Randy were very influential in my musical tastes, along with bands I probably should not mention here, but will, like the Ramones and Sex Pistols, so you can see I had some very diverse musical influences.  Actually I would go from one to the next and then listen to some jazz or clasical music along the way.  I just love music.

So Stormin' Norman has gone on to his final gig.  I remember seeing him at Jesusfest 1984 in Florida.  His contribution to Cristian music was great and he'll be missed.

Yes Gene, his contribution was great and he will be missed, even if we have not heard much from him in recent years.

"Sweet Sweet Song of Salvation" is one of my earliest Christian music memories.  I just watched him perform it on YouTube.  He was definitely a pioneer.  Seriously, singing a song with the phrase, "Why should the devil get all the good music" in that era was scandalous!  He definitely threw open the floodgates of Christian music for others to walk through.
